When are we likely to get definitive stadium news?

Around this time last year, our owners announced that they would pause for a year because of Covid and the Bloos announced that Covid wouldn't affect BMD. As if I needed convincing, that just struck me as final confirmation that our club was serious in its stadium intentions, while theirs was not.

You just wonder how long they can keep delaying things and dragging it out. They announced in five and a half years ago. They are almost as bad as Peel and Liverpool Waters.

That end of the ground is desperately needed. It will look impressive when it's done. The exterior images also look good and integrate well with the other two stands.

It can't happen soon enough, years too late. Really we need to look at the lower Kenny and the kop too as the leg room in those sections are a fucking disgrace, like they were set up for kids - I'm at a point where my kop seat is concerned, as I'm getting older I don't think my knees can do it anymore. While I never wanted to leave anfield, one of the plus points would have been some acceptable seating for those in those sections.

Yep the leg room in the Kenny has always been awful. The Kop isn’t bad plus you just stand up anyway.

Stop sitting in the kop like a youngster then? Do you wear skinny jeans? No, nice comfy slim fit are enough for the older gentleman. Upper Kenny - love it. Lots of space to sit.

I was in the Main stand for the Palace game and I was impressed. Lots of space. To be fair - the Kop has never been my cup of tea - I don't like the view.

Kop gets worse as go further back for lack of leg room....305/306 is shite for it.

But the 100's and 200's seem a bit better.

Sat in the SKD lower a couple of times and the Kemlyn knee isnt nice. The only way to increase the legroom is take a couple of rows of seats out and re profile the terracing with wider rows. In other words, reduce the capacity.

Thankfully Im on row 1 of the upper so only if you're like the 6 foot 6 in guy who tried to sit next to us do you end up with knees behind your ears!

Depends where you sit I think. I'm in 203 and it's awful. I've sat in 205 and while it's not ideal is better. I don't know how, maybe it's just an inch or two, but where I sit is just shit.

I'd move to be honest jockey if the lads I sit around would move too. I've been in the new main stand a few times, lower and upper, it's alright. As is the Kenny upper because of the steepness (it's maybe the tightest stand in the ground but the steepness means my knees are above the head of those in front). But I do enjoy watching behind the goal.

I have a mate who worked on the kop project. He claims it was a bit calamitous sorting the seating etc. I don't quite understand as it looks really symmetrical to me, but it's clearly not all the same as you see if you move about.

Looks to me as though they deffo squuezed seats in more in the 300's.

I know it was built back in the 90's, and room is is not all that much as well and they clearly wanted to maintain the one solid bank style of the old Kop - but considering it is our most famous stand it has always struck me as pretty a pretty poor effort.

it was crap - but equally they promised us pricing that was inline with terracing, until they didn't! I am hoping we may get safe seating down the line and i would be happy with that (I realise a lot of the hillsborough families are not, which clearly may block it). At least the last couple of years on the kop it has been standing up, which for me at least has made it bearable. for me that is all the more reason for safe standing.

Like i am sure we all do, i absolutely understand some of the families position on standing and absolutely respect it....

It is my view though that safe standing is safer by miles than standing in a normal seated area.

I've seen some dodgy situations develop after goals and also come out of Kop before with my shins cut/bruised quite badly from the celebrations of a goal at a european game....i have seen people falling/being 'pushed' into row ahead/and had people from behind me end up in my row too.

The developments in safe standing look to me anyway to be very progressive and very safe, removing the issues i have described here and other issues like overcrowding.

It's not this TLW.

There's another facebook page that has nicked the name and loads of people think it's me. It's not.

If you don’t pay me £5000 for the Facebook page I’m going to flood it with pornography to ruin your reputation….

yeah, i can identify with pretty much all of that. and i think where standing or not is concerned, being a survivor of from one of those pens in leppings lane that day and losing a mate there, i think my voice is valid on this one too and exactly as you say, safe standing is better and safer than standing at seats. i am happy for the families to be able to voice their opinion on this - they absolutely should. but there needs to be good arguments to go with it and i think they shouldn't be the only voice in the room.

Spot on IMO.
