Time and a place lad to call someone shit but just after winning a trophy is not one of them.

serious apologies for calling you a tool, i respect your comments.

But he is shit and a waste of money cup or no cup.

He will never be good enough for us and is/was totally overpriced and a waste of money.

We won, nothing else matters this evening. Winning a competition is the best team building exercise they can do, tonight our players will be looking at their winners medals and wanting to do it all over again. It's about building a little self-belief.

No one is suggesting we're actually little more than average at the moment but that 'average' squad might have taken a very important step today. Enjoy it.

Agreed.

Plus if our "average" squad goes through to FA cup final (which looks a realistic possibility) and/or qualifies for the CL (this one looks a bit harder), then it won't be looked at as "average" at all. Whilst also being significantly improved upon in the summer.

As far as Henderson goes, seemed overwhelmed today but he's got time on his side hasn't he? Perhaps for the money it wasn't a good buy but if he develops then that will be forgotten. Being in the starting 11 for the King's first cup final upon returning AND our first direct chance at a trophy in damn near 5 years has to be a confidence builder if anything.

Guest San Don

Think the lad will know he let the event get the better of him today. If he learns from it, he'll get better. Just dont understand the need for us to slaughter some of our players and all the fucking negativity about them.

Agree he was poor and it's debatable whether we can justify spending £16m on the lad but for me today is all about the celebrating winning our first trophy in 6 years.

We can debate the performance of certain players on another occasion but enjoy the day because it's took six bloody years to come round.

He was diabolical today, he shouldn't be a regular at this stage and the jury is out on how good he'll be when he matures. I slagged him off, but I he looke genuinely gutted when he went off - not because he felt he shouldn't have, but because he knew he'd been poor. That's not a bad sign.

I hope he proves us wrong. The big question is that if he loses a regular place in the team, if he goes out on loan to develop away from the furnace whether that causes him to work twice as hard to improve or defeats him completely. I don't think it's too much of a stretch to suspect that confidence isn't something that comes easily to him.

Anyway...the main thing is that we've won the fucking League Cup! We needed that, Kenny needed that.
