£50M per season? Not bad when you consider when we signed it and that we’re into the last year.

The original Warrior deal started in 2012/13 (Rodgers' first year as manager), and was to run until 2018. It wasn't £50m per year, it was £25m per year. Ian Ayre made a comment about the club possibly making an extra £25m per year through control of the merchandising (which is something that both Adidas and Nike would want to control themselves if they were ever to do a deal with us), hence the chance of earning £50m per year. That claim has never been proven because the club isn't obliged to disclose that level of detail in its accounts, being a private limited company. If they were listed (or part-listed) on the stock exchange like the Mancs, their accounts would include this breakdown.

When NB took the deal over in 2015, the basic went up to around £30m per year and it was announced as a multi-year deal. It hasn't been confirmed exactly when it expires. This week some journalist claimed it was up in 2019, and someone else has apparently debunked that since. Either way, what the club need to consider is whether a very high basic but no control over merchandising represents a better deal than a lower basic which includes merchandising control. Control over merchandising is only worthwhile if there is a market for the stuff, it can be widely distributed and it remains lucrative.

Our stock is currently as high as it has been in years...we have just been in the biggest game in the world, we are in the comp again..

Now would be a good time to be renegotiating our deals where possible/seeing what is out there for a proposition like us.

Nike kits have been turd for ages.

The time to swtich to Nike was 1996, when we went with Reebok instead. They did different designs for every team for about 5 or 6 years, and it was around the 2002 World Cup when they start basing every kit on templates.

I don’t have a problem with templates, kit manufacturers have been using them forever and a day. A boss kit is not necessarily a unique one, in my opinion.

Just watched Pride in the Shirt on LFC TV. It's a good watch. Away kit was white with black shorts for about 90 years. For me the best one will always be the yellow kit with the red pinstripes from the early 80s. Red, white, yellow. That should be it. Can't be doing with the grey, green and purple or the jazzy patterns. (Fully aware what an old get that makes me sound!)
