Most expensive taxi ride ever?

I live in a very small village about 45km from the nearest town. No school so kids from all around the district have a school bus to pick them up and drop them off.

Except for one, just down the road, who has "learning difficulties and behavioural problems" and has fits/fights on the bus. Every morning a taxi drives 45km to pick him up and drive him to school and every afternoon another one drives him home and heads back into town. All courtesy of the NSW taxpayers.Every schoolday.

And that's a problem why?

There were lads I knew who lived by me when I was a kid who were not in mainstream education but in units. The got excluded from mainstream schools for basically not going to school which was the result of them struggling because of learning difficulties. They would get picked up and brought home every day by taxi as it ensured they were went to school and weren't playing hooky and getting into trouble with the police.

Whilst in the Army I was out on the lash with my mate Steve Clancy, it was about 2am and we were pissed as cunts and jumped in a Taxi and said "Essen" which is German for food. Unfortunately we fell asleep and the Taxi driver drove us to a City called Essen which is about an hour and a half drive away, the fucking cunt.

Because it's a prime example of pissing taxpayer money away.

It costs $60 a trip, twice a day for 150 days a year say $180,000 a year. A small people mover $60,000 for top of the range (spread over 3 years) is $20,000. $80,000 for a driver and the government has $80,000 to cover petrol and maintenance and the community has a vehicle for use for other aged/disabled services for 6 hours a day, 8 in school holidays

$60 x 2 = $120 X 150 days = $18000 but I agree the money could be utilised better to get the kid to school
