Quite sad to see a couple of black lads at the front there, when they would have been subject to the exact same rallies forty or fifty years ago.

No, that doesn't help at all.

You could try drinking drain cleaner, that might help.

Voters will head to the ballot boxes in all 27 EU countries on June 6-9 to choose their members of the European Parliament.

Some 373 million Europeans are eligible to vote. They will elect 720 representatives. That’s 15 more than last time, but less than the 751 MEPs who were in the Parliament before Brexit.

Elected members take their seats in mid-July for a first plenary session.

(Anyone know how to embed tweets now? Was copying and pasting to Google app then copying URL from there but no joy)

Delete the x in x.com above and replace with twitter.com then put your cursor at the end of the address and press return. It should then embed.

“Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen was hit by a man Friday evening on Kultorvet [public square] in Copenhagen. The man was subsequently arrested,” the prime minister’s office said.

It added that Frederiksen “is shocked by the incident” and there was no further comment. It is unclear if the prime minister was hurt in the assault.

Danish Minister of Environment Magnus Heunicke called for national unity after the attack, saying everyone has a responsibility to look after each other regardless of “political disagreements, election campaigns.”

Denmark is due to vote in the European Union elections on Sunday.

The first exit poll shows Spain’s conservative Popular Party (PP) has overtaken the Socialist Workers Party (PSOE) with 33.2% of the vote.

If the projection stands, this will be a substantial increase from the 2019 European elections, when the party held 20.35% of the vote.

Spain’s far-right Vox party came third with 10.4% of the vote, nearly double what the party gained in 2019.

True.

Belgium's Prime Minister Alexander De Croo has resigned after his party suffered a disastrous defeat in national and European parliamentary elections on Sunday.

The 48-year-old struggled to hold back tears when announcing the decision on Sunday evening in Brussels.
