I wouldn't say Trump or Farage are the death rattle of anything. In contrast actually.

Sadly, have to agree with this. The 'latest' cycle of populist, self-interested, right-wing rabble-rousers that appeal to the mob. Ironically these 'Nationalist' lowest common denominator views appear to have again achieved some considerable traction internationally.

I love that this has become a trend.

BK's tweet was brilliant.

I hate that it has become a trend. Making victims out of these lots will achieve absolute fuck all.

I couldn't give a single fuck about their welfare or if they’ve had a milkshake thrown at them, but I’m tellin’ you that this will make them seem like the reasonable ones and those objecting to them look at extreme.

Its going to backfire.

It’s going to happen to Corbyn soon or May then there will be calls for the throwers to be prosecuted and full on outrage.

Still, I can’t help but smile at the look on the face of Farage.

Pretty much spot-on article about milkshakes and Fascists.  It's not violence; it's ridicule and humiliation.

https://bylinetimes.com/2019/05/20/the-last-straw-in-defence-of-the-milkshake/

Those who would condemn the throwing of milkshakes, while claiming to represent ‘the real Britain’ would do well to remember the long history of mockery and ridicule running throughout British political history. Mocking effigies, obscene poems, even the odd clump of flung horse dung, have made multiple appearances in the discourse, reaching a peak in the 18th Century.

The milkshake has emerged as a potent tool in showing the Far Right in the UK for what they are – cowards and frauds. For all their self-righteous anger, for all their arrogant bluster, all it takes is a cold, milky beverage to cower them.
