Welcome to the new and improved TLW!

Some of you may experience issues logging in and will get an 'incorrect password' error. Don't worry, you haven't typed it in wrong and your password hasn't been changed. You will need to reset it though in order to log in. Click the reset password link and you will receive an email with your new temporary password. Once logged in, you need to choose a new password (or restore to your old one) otherwise you will be locked out again.

If you have an out of date email address linked to your account, then you won't receive the new password. If that's the case then you'll need to email me (dave @liverpoolway.co.uk) or send me a tweet @theliverpoolway and I'll update your password manually.

Any other problems or questions just let me know.

Thanks

Dave

As I said, it doesn't always obey it's own internal logic. Things don't have to be realistic but if they set out the rules for their own world then they have to obey them.

Just finished season 4 (all two episodes of it!)

I recognise its weaknesses but overall I really like it. Looking forward to the next season.

Idris Elba is so good in it. That scene where he twatted the lads on the bike with a bin, funny as fuck.

Because it is?

Yeah but why? The stories seem convoluted, the characters are unrealistic and no actual police work seems to get done. It seems substantially style over substance and cool because of who its lead actor is.

It’s meant to be over the top and unrealistic, just like Sherlock, Line of duty or any other number of programmes. It’s the modern day equivalent of pulp magazines.

What’s not to like about it? Good cast, usually got some very good villains in it, and it’s good fast moving fare you can watch with a few beers. It’s a solid 7.5/10 show, for me.

Everyone has programmes they just can’t get into, I guess. It was Hannibal for me. I thought it was utter derivative pish but everyone else raved over it

I can see why you thought that about Hannibal. I just can't see why people think Luther is good, apart from he wears a nice coat.

It’s dark, it’s moody as fuck and Idris is charisma personified. I fucking love Luther.

Yeah I thought Hannibal was shite, way too arty, for some reason it was one of those programmes I stuck with for reasons I can’t quite fathom as it bored me to tears.

Seems a little underwhelming so far.

Seen the first 2 episodes of this season, I think its been decent so far. Gruesome like and I fucking shit myself when that fella appeared on the roof of the bus with that lit-up hood.

Read some reviews on BBC and some people were complaining about it being too gratuitous and even called it torture porn, obviously little snowflakes who don't venture off terrestrial telly, should stick to Death in paradise or some shit.

Anyway, it's okay however a few bits not making sense but Elba is cool and I like Ruth Wilson as the mega psycho however but bit poor how they shoe horned her back into the show from the dead.

Have to say I thought it was fucking dreadful I binned it five minutes into the second episode when that Ruth Wilson turned into some sort of Bond character when she beat the shit out of those blokes.

But I was on my way to spewing it with that annoying 1960's type caricature of a cockney gangster .

I know it's meant to be far fetched but there's far fetched and just crap.

British drama hasn't half gone downhill when you consider the stuff that comes from the States and even the Scandinavian stuff is better than ours.
