response from Charles Garside, Assistant Editor:

Dear Kevan,

Many thanks for your note.

We always welcome feedback – whether positive or negative – and we value your opinion.

The Mail has an unrivalled stable of excellent columnists who provoke, entertain, infuriate and delight our readers and I really do hope you continue to enjoy the paper.

For the record, however, the Mail’s stance on Hillsborough can be summed up by our comment column on the following Monday, April 17, 1989

“Why were the police slow to respond to the full horror of what was happening? Because their first instinct was to prevent the game being disrupted by those they miscast as troublemakers….

….So many dead and so many of them young. Our hearts go out to the bereaved families of Merseyside.”

As a onetime Chairman of the Liverpool Press Club, I can tell you they still do.

Yours sincerely

Said it before re Voldemo....Ahem Murdoch - Why has No-One Ever thought of a plane ticket, a loaded rifle with a silencer awaiting said assassin and a contract out on the creature's Life? Yes He deserves it alright - That piece of carrion Mckenzie even Moreso. Why has no-one gone after them directly thus far in the way many of us so Wanted to H&G last year? - Even Public Indecency in this country of seemingly no shame had Some limits (just) until recently but They? Have now broken All of them, gone Way off the scale and Should be bloody punished for it - But they won't be - Not until they take up their Long since booked ticket to Hell anyway........

NB BTW Norwichlfc? I predict the Scum Will close no Matter What - The Enemies of Murdoch (including Us, The Mirror, Labour amongst others) sense blood now - I can see us all going after them Big style and taking down the Sun in the end after a protracted, bitter campaign of attrition aimed at destroying it - I suspect the famous 'internet terrorists' we once heard of Might just have Something to do with it all as well But my prediction? The Sun Will be gone soon - Within 2 years now at the Most. Mark my words..............
