Croatia Advice

I know I started a thread about Eastern Europe a week or so ago, but we have now booked our flights and are going to Croatia only.

 

We (there are 6 of us) are flying into Zadar on June 22nd, and flying home from Zadar on July 9th.

 

I have had a look at previous threads on here about Croatia, but the search function is shit and I haven't found much that really helps what I need.

 

We are definitely going to Zrce Beach on Pag Island for 4 nights, at the same time the Hideout Festival is on (July 1st, 2nd and 3rd). Other than that, we have no concrete plans.

 

We want to go to Dubrovnik, Split and Zagreb. Anybody know how long it takes to travel from Zadar to both Dubrovnik and Zagreb?

 

Thing is, we are wondering should we buy a rail card for Croatia, or just rely on the coaches? What are the coaches like? Are they cheap? Are they reliable?

Buses are very good in Croatia, rail less so. I think there is ferry from Radar to Split and also Dubrovnik.

 

You may need to check that. Although there Defo is from Split as I used to via Korcula.

 

I'll try and bump some older threads and see what's on them.

Definitely take coaches in Croatia. They're much better than the trains.

Zagreb what you can, then Split.

Defo go to Split. Don't miss that off. Amazing city.

 

And get a ferry to Brac. Bol is cool.

On Brac for the week in a small bay that has access from about five houses - so beautiful and walking into Milna in the evenings. Off to Zlatni Rat tomorrow

Had a boss night out on my own on my birthday in Zagreb after being evacuated from Bosnia getting injured, remember being on some club/boat thing and the birds being absolutely stunning and that's it.

Couldn't be happier. Me and the Missus love it.

 

I need some top class squid or prsut now!

 

Thinking we might get a holiday home there in the next 5-10 years and loom to part retire eventually out there.
