Love the way when we're linked with someone the majority of fans want to sign who may be a player with a higher profile it's all, 'kenny knows a player' etc. Then when we're linked with a player with a lower profile or an unknown quantity then it gets blamed on Comolli, with the obligatory 'fuck off you french twat'. Fucks sake lads.

Any chance you can point out an example of your quotes, especially the 'fuck off you French twat'?

OK.

I guess nothing can happen till he gets back from the U21s anyway.

Ipswich Town teenager Connor Wickham is reportedly keen on a move to Liverpool, as Sunderland enter the race for his signature.

According to the Daily Express, the Black Cats are ready to table a £9 million bid for the 18-year-old striker, but Wickham still 'favours' a switch to Merseyside.

It has been claimed that Liverpool have already submitted a bid of £7 million for the England under 21 international, but they are likely to have to up the ante if they are serious about bringing Wickham to Anfield.

Wickham shot to prominence last season, scoring nine goals for Ipswich, before being named Football League Young Player of the Year as well as the Championship Apprentice of the Year at the 2011 Football League Awards.

And, despite the youngster signing a one-year contract extension at Portman Road in April, Liverpool remain hopeful Wickham can add to the recent influx of England youngsters to Anfield.

The big-money signings of Andy Carroll and Jordan Henderson - as well as Liverpool missing out on Phil Jones - seems to suggest that the Reds have a strategy of investing in home-grown talent.

However, Liverpool director of football Damien Comolli says that is not strictly true.

"It's not because a player is English and young that we are going to go for him. We go for a player because he ticks all the boxes. It's what we need at this time in this window," he told the official Liverpool website.

"If a player is English or British or has played in the Premier League we'll look at that over someone who is abroad but it could be any nationality as long as they tick the boxes and is what we need for this window and going forward."

This is from the Sunderland Echo.

SUNDERLAND are today in talks with exciting South Korean striker Ji Dong-Won, and are also believed to have made a £9m bid for Ipswich star Connor Wickham.

At only 20 years old, a height of 6ft 1ins, and a growing reputation as a regular goalscorer, Dong-Won has all the attributes manager Steve Bruce is looking to add to his squad.

He has scored nine times in 32 appearances for K-League side Chunnam Dragons and six goals in 11 games for his country.

He would not only bring youth and energy to the Sunderland squad but a physical presence and, hopefully, goals.

Dong-Won scored for South Korea in their recent game against Ghana – a match in which Asamoah Gyan also found the back of the net – and is rated as one of the best young prospects in Asia.

There is still some way to go on finalising a deal, with the Black Cats negotiating on several fronts for new strikers. They have also been given permission to talk to Liverpool’s David Ngog over a possible £3m move.

Liverpool director of football Damien Comolli confirmed the 22-year-old could soon be on his way to the North East.

“Sunderland have had a strong interest in David, so we’ve agreed to let him speak to Sunderland about his future to see if he’s interested in going there,” he said.

“They’ve expressed a strong interest, so we’ll see what’s next for him.”

Bruce, meanwhile, has long been an admirer of Ipswich prodigy Wickham and though most in East Anglia believe that the 18-year-old striker is destined to leave for one of the Premier League giants, Sunderland would love to take him.

Bruce had a bid knocked back last year but will happily try again for a player he rates as the outstanding young player of his generation.

The Sunderland boss still has an interest in Spurs striker Peter Crouch. Reports today suggest that Tottenham boss might be willing to let Crouch move, if he can get Asamoah Gyan to move in the other direction.

Sunderland were interested in both Crouch and fellow Spurs forward Roman Pavlyuchenko but the Russian international will not move to the North East and Bruce will now focus his attention on the Londoners’ 6ft 7ins striker.

Bruce has a long-term interest in Crouch and tried to sign him for Sunderland when he first arrived as manager at the Stadium of Light two seasons ago. He did not succeed then but will hope to have better luck with the 30-year-old this summer.

would just be our luck to have that fat headed fucking stoodge of taggerts to pip us to a signing with the money we gave them...prick

Bruce is probably plotting with Slur to drive the price up so we spend more, maybe because Slur is basically scared as fuck about the amount of cash we have to spend, and that the people we have spending it know what they're doing.

Sunderland can agree a fee with Barcelona for Messi if they want.

In a straight choice between us and Sunderland when Wickham gets back from the u21s he'll choose us.

Liverpool or Sunderland, Kenny or fathead, stadium of light or Anfield... that should take him all of 23 seconds to decide.

Yeah, so frightened that he's going to spend more himself.

Ferguson will be looking at what Chelsea and City spend before he looks our way. They are his title rivals, not us.

?

I'm just making assumptions don't mind me. If I am wrong I am willing to admit it but time will tell. Its possible Kenny wants these shite players to turn them into polished turds that can create a team that is sustainable and helps the environment too by using human feaces that would otherwise be laying at the bottom of the ocean being eaten by the tuna I had for lunch to fashion a title winning team thereby reducing our carbon footprint and filling our foreign player quota with englishmen. Ya never know like.

If he doesn't sign for us it's because we don't want him. There's no way we would let him go to Sunderland or any other club below the top 4 if we wanted him enough.

If we want him It will be done deal now I pretty sure of that.

The reason being,it seems to me that maybe we have gone in so early for these youngsters,it is more than likely if they have a decent or outstanding tournament, there cost would of/will been alot lot more than w e can get them for now.
