And ever since your epitaph was splattered on my wall,

No-one comes to call: they can't stand the stench.

But I still sing your praises every time the curtain calls,

The burden on me falls, And I alone will stand at your defence.

Pretty crap interview, but he's a class act. Faced up to why he left without laying or deflecting blame and showed some humility and even bashfulness when Claire was going on about Twitter and his tweets about Kenny.

To be fair any major newspaper would have given Alonso the opportunity to have this so called 'farewell' letter published.

Just seems strange that we would allow someone who is essentially an ex player the opportunity to appear on the TV channel.

Are we doing an interview with Mascherano next week.

I don't think there is anything sinister in it. Maybe the producers just sat around a desk one day and asked 'Who should we interview?'

Xabi is still loved by the fans, the interview itself wasn't that damning. He didn't REALLY criticise Benitez, all he said that was he was disappointed Rafa wanted to sell him, but we all knew that anyway.

It was however interesting to see them mention the Lazio game in depth, I was there that day and anyone else who was would tell you just how much the crowd didn't want Barry and how much they wanted Xabi. It was universal condemnation of the move, even though personally I didn't sing nor did I approve of the 'Stick Gareth Barry up yer arse' song.
