Right now we need the quick striker that we never signed in the summer. We need him in Jan.

Might as well get Begovic then too. And a hardcore DM. Then we could be in the mix for 4th place but I don't think they will sanction it, or there will be major politics between BR and the transfer committee as to who we should sign. I have read all the quotes by BR about him saying he oks all the signings but his selections speak louder. Alberto, Assaidi, Aspas etc are they really his signings?

Cardie > Tom Werner.

No, I'm just not taking the idea that branching out into other territories is good business sense (if not slow progress) and extrapolating that into some grand master plan to conquer asia by sneaking in disguised as the dunkin donughts mascot on a Garuda flight and annexing indonesia.

They already have access to Asia with the red sox. Baseball beats football in Japan and is in the top 5 in China.

Merchandising from the far east is virtually non existent and Asian sponsors use us to increase their brand notoriety in foreign markets.

Garuda's sponsorship, for example, coincided with them starting direct flights to and from Europe for the first time. They didn't do it to boost internal flights they did it to increase incoming tourism.

As for dunkin donughts, ignoring the fact they have more franchises in asia than the UK already, if all they really wanted to do was increase their asian branding they'd go to the NBA or MLB not try some stealth marketing via us.

What exactly is the grand plan if their sole focus is 'getting into asia' or is this a variation on the bi-annual Fsg want to sell us story?

I flew with Garuda from Heathrow to Indonesia in 2002...they've had direct flights for a very long time

Maybe it was flights from Manchester or something?

Mate, the master plans, the asian invasions, the sole focuses, the regions with 4.5bn people having more stores than those with 50m are all yours.  My point remains Asia (Asia!=China+Japan BTW) is strategic, is the key growth market and weighs more heavily than a single years CL qualification.

But if you want go ahead and invade Indonesia, hit me up, I can direct you to a few top notch warung.

  • 7 months later...

I can't see FSG eve consider selling until the Main Stand/ARE redevelopment is complete at the earliest.

They are making a bit of money, they have a stake in football as it continues to grow worldwide, and in particular, Stateside.

FSG have always been a paradox, the right owners to save us from Administration, the wrong owners to lead us into a new era of success, they will neither make enough money to prompt a cash-in, nor lose enough money to make them want to cut their losses.

They are likely to be here for some time.

Look at fucking Shitty. They were nobodies 5 years ago and now they spend more than Barcelona. Disgusting.

And if you won a mega rollover lottery jackpot of £150m, would your monthly spend stay the same?

Its not like city just decided to start spending hundreds of millions of pounds, is it?

Cheers, mate. "Par" amongst English teams is still fucking shit.

Three times as much as Valencia. Why won't anyone think of the children?
