In the books, how many dragons were in Westeros 300 years before GOT began?

There are no prequel books as far as I know. The series is purely for TV and based on Ideas by Martin based on Ice and Fire. Fuck knows if he plans to write the books or it remains just a TV job. The lazy fucker still hasn't released The Winds of Winter or A dream of Spring to wrap up Ice and Fire. It's been 8 fucking years and still waiting.

Yeah, but the timeline is known isn’t it? Like when the last dragons died out, etc. It’s easily found elsewhere on the internet but I can’t be arsed looking.

Well I'll be fucked if I'm looking mate. He's written a few Novellas on prequels but I haven't read them out of principle. Finish off the main story first you money grabbing fucker. I think one Novella prequel is on the history of the House of Targaryen, which could be what this latest TV show is based on, couldn't say for sure.

It’s based on his book on the Targaryen history.

The Targaryens came over on three dragons but had about 20 in total I think. They bred them but they got progressively weaker and smaller until the last one died about 150 years before GOT starts.

Cheers SA. Have you read that Fire and Blood yet and is it worth it? Just checked in case i had it but only have other books of his unrelated to Ice and Fire (Dream songs 1&2, that Hedge knight and The Sworn Sword.) Just found it hard to get into them, especially the short stories in Dream songs.

Yeah it’s decent but it’s not a novel like the GOT books, it’s wrote by someone in Westeros around the time Robert Baratheon is king and he’s writing a history of the Targaryens so it’s sort of like reading a history book. Still interesting to read though if you’re into it.

As I said, I personally won't be buying any of his work until he wraps up A song of Ice and Fire. Obviously if someone gifts me it I'll have a peak. Mind you, the TV show might have aired by then. I loved the 'A song of Ice and Fire' novels and I'm a bit pissed that he hasn't released the next one in 8 years. Loved the show, but still not a patch on the books, so all in all it's a sore point.

I read today that he’s said he won’t be writing any scripts for the TV show until he’s finished his latest book and that’s his number one priority now. Might be wishful thinking but I’m hoping it’ll be done next year.

I've been saying that for the last four years mate. Apparently it was back then that he said he had all the rough drafts finished and was just deciding on small detail and the arc he wanted to go as far as finishing it all. I have a feeling he was told/accepted the deal to hold back on releasing them due to TV ratings. I wouldn't be at all surprised if he also did this so he can work on a different ending, or maybe a choice of endings.

Been looking forward to this for a while. Sounds boss.

Hunters

Amazon released the trailer for “Hunters,” starring Al Pacino and Logan Lerman. Created by David Weil (“Moonfall”), the show follows a diverse band of Nazi hunters living in 1977 New York City who discovered hundreds of high-ranking Nazi officials are conspiring to create a Fourth Reich in the U.S. The eclectic team of titular hunters will set out on a bloody quest to bring the Nazis to justice and thwart their new genocidal plans.

Looks better than the film.

It will be much better than the film, as the series will allow for more plot and character development. Not to mention the fact that some of the train car interiors (dining / night club / wealthy clients) were designed by moi.

I said before that the mature Jennifer Connelly is a fabulous babe.
