Found a Barlow knife in the woods today.

Put me in mind of Bessie Smith's "'lectric chair":

I cut him with my barlow

I kicked him in the side

I stood there laughing o'er him

While he wallowed 'round and died

Fucking amazing.

I've never heard that before.  It also deserves a place on the Murder Ballads thread and on the Fantasy Cover Versions thread, because I bet Johnny Cash would have loved lines like

"I wanna take a journey to the Devil down below

I done killed my man, I wanna reap just what I sow"

It's a great song.

It's been covered a few times, including this much more tongue-in-cheek version by Dave Bromberg (and his very good band):

But the original can't be beat.

Listening to Christone 'Kingfisher' I grams debut album. Heard about the kid before a few years back. Some talent only about 21 too.

Throwback to BB King and Buddy Guy era older bluesmen but adding some Stevie Ray guitar at times

The opening track outside this town has pulled straight from Aerosmith Same old song and dance.

Mook has somehow managed to get into my YouTube algorithms. These fellas turned up out of the blue in my suggestions. Wiki'd them, they've been going since 1974 and had about 30 albums. Never heard of the cunts. Having a listen and getting my relax on. If I still smoked weed I'd be listening to them for the rest of the day.
