could you imagine the fucking reaction if this was happening under a labour government?

apart from the likes of the guardian, you wouldnt even know this was going on

Yeah I know. We should be used to it by now because the NHS has been in decline for so long but the pics still have the power to shock.

The reason people grew more Conservative isn't because they were getting older, it's because they were getting wealthier, ironically largely due to living in much more left leaning economies than we do now.

Young people are not going to get wealthier as they get older now.

You wonder what will happen to the so called "bank of mum and dad", in a couple of decades because this generaton will have no wealth to pass on. I wonder how many first time buyers get deposits from their parents now? Be amazed if it's not at least 50%.

It's a great fireside chat topic in the next 12 month with the old dears.

"You DO realise that if you vote Tory in 2024 then your home, your cherished generational dividend for the family, will be sold-off by us 15 years to pay our fucking utility bills?"

It's near the top of the mail website.

You are right

It was just under the story about woke eastenders

The mail also helpfully points out how many people are off sick without the merest hint of criticism towards the people responsible.

Worse fraud than Liverpool Council.

Tory corruption in Thurrock.

Not a commissioner in sight.

I think a few Tory councils have lent Thurrock money for this, into the several millions. Derbyshire County Council definitely have and I doubt we'll see any of it again.

Yeah you’re right. I posted an article about it in the summer from The Bureau Investigates in this thread. Loads of councils involved.

”A dictator's daughter who moonlighted as a pop star and diplomat spent $240m (£200m) on properties from London to Hong Kong, a report has found.

Gulnara Karimova used UK companies to buy homes and a jet with funds obtained through bribery and corruption, the Freedom For Eurasia study says.

It adds that accounting firms in London and the British Virgin Islands acted for UK companies involved in the deals.

The story raises fresh doubts about the UK's efforts to tackle illegal wealth.”

Tin pot country. Grubby handshakes and agreements with the super rich. Courting of dodgy finances. The Tories love it - they're dazzled by wealth. They have no interest in normal people.

I remember reading a thing around about 2004/5 about footballers' wages. And someone was saying they didn't understand what the difference was between getting 30k a week and 40k, as in, once you're rich you're rich - why chase pay rises?

And it was more to do with the culture of the dressing room, especially the England dressing room, where it was a case of being judged on your worth and laughed at if you were on less than someone else. I'd imagine Terry and Lampard were leading the charge in this.

But in the world from whence most of these people come at the top of the Tory party, it's the same deal. Johnson describing his income from his ghost written bollocks in the telegraph as 'chicken feed', for instance. I suspect that's why he hates Sunak, because he's not just rich - he's fucking RICH. The rest of them scrimp and scrape around for the odd 10k here and there on boards and for doing favours. But it never seems enough.

But it's all about money, how much you make and where you get it from. It's a part of your brand and how you're judged by your family (especially your dad, probably) old school 'chums' and all the rest of it.

Bearing in mind the Bullingdon boys used to call George Osborne an oik because he wasn't as high born, even though his dad once spent 14k on a desk.

Kate Middleton's parents got slagged off when they first met the Queen because they said 'how do you do' (or didn't, I can't remember), they were also described as 'commoners' by the right wing press, even though they're millionaires.
