Still haven't seen a single shred of evidence that Corbyn (human rights campaigner and vocal and racist) has been antisemitic from the forums very own Rachel Riley.

not sure if this has been posted elsewhere, but it really highlights how we got to where are are today, there's a few cohorts in the over 55 crew who have utterly shafted thee rest of us, possibly without really understanding how much they have benefited, but all the same - its an eye opener. should have been a key part of election news.

Q&A after is also pretty good - predominantly those who benefited trying to argue they haven't.

I'm getting twitchy about this plan to retrospectively change the rules around release for prisoners serving sentences for "terror" offences. It looks like the Tories are deliberately, cynically and opportunistically setting up a battle in the courts and (more importantly, for their purposes) in the media, between "national security" (as represented by the Government, on the side of good old-fashioned common sense) and "political correctness" (as represented by those bleeding-heart liberals who are always on the side of the criminals and never the victims). The long game is to build support for their long-standing aim to repeal the Human Rights Act.

If they get away with that, we're all fucked.

Any law that’s rushed in is usually a cluster fuck.   Shouldn’t be doing this IMO.

The terrorist retrospective law change malarkey is sheer politicking. I don't have the stats to back it up, alas, but I'd hazard a guess that more people have died at the hands of non-terrorist violent offenders who've been released early and who then went on to kill.

However, it appears that the risk that such offenders represent, or the suffering of the families they leave without a loved one don't matter as much. Probably because it's not as much of a vote winner amongst the bigoted Boris base as getting tough on Jonny Foreigner (who's actually probably a British citizen).

Does it really matter to the victim and their families if the killer was released early from either a terrorist or non-terrorist offence?

Hold on, are you saying that a person locked up for say ABH is as much as a risk of killing someone on release as someone who’s jailed for supporting the mass murder of people purely based on their religion?  Really?

would you rather live next to the former or latter?

we should be doing everything possible to deradicalise terrorists. But it’s not always possible.

Yeah, seems likely.

That said, let them.  Can't pick a fight in an empty room.

People need to know when to walk away from these twats.

The crime figures will speak for them.  I mean, under these new plans, the Streatham lad would have served 2 more months or something.  And then killed some people.
