No. You fuck off.

I tend to agree with him if I’m honest. The term “North London Elites” sounds anti-semitic to me and it needs to be called out. Mainly because the most affluent areas in London i.e. the real elites are mainly in the west. Why did she have to specifically say “North”, if it wasn’t to dogwhistle?

She said liberal elite, not financial elite.

Honestly you are digging for something that just isn't there. I can't stand the woman either, but there is no anti-semitism here.

What does liberal elite mean? Is Islington particularly liberal compared to other areas in London? I’m not offended by it; I’m not Jewish, but there are loads of jews who are; David Baddiel, the lady she quoted, Michael Rosen, etc.

Gathered around attractive Upper St, Islington is generally portrayed in the press as a hotbed of champagne socialism, due in part to its association with New Labour in the 1990s (the Blairs famously lived here, along with other key figures).

Lonely Planet Guide - Islington

Maybe even Hampstead

The most well-heeled and leafy part of North London, Hampstead has long been associated with intellectuals and artists, although these days it's mainly bankers and foreign oligarchs who can afford to buy property here.

Hampstead

The point is though that its difficult to associate her comments with anti-semitism. For me at least.

I don't think there is either, similarly there's no anti semitism in most of the stuff that's been breathlessly reported about Labour.

And, if you read the link I sent you, others are not.

"Speaking at the despatch box on Thursday, Rees-Mogg responded to the MP Valerie Vaz’s remark hedge fund manager Crispin Odey “made £220m overnight as Sterling slumped after the 2016 referendum result.”  “One of the major funders allegedly of the Remain campaign, the Remoaner funder-in-chief, is one George Soros, who made a billion pounds when Sterling crashed out of the exchange rate mechanism, which is five times as much as Mr Odey has made,” said Rees-Mogg.   “All [Valerie Vaz] is saying that Mr. Soros is a better hedge-fund manager than my friend Crispin Odey, who is a great friend of mine and indeed a supporter of mine.”

JRM is possibly one of the last people on earth I would defend but I am at a loss to see what is antisemitic about that.

It's similar to stuff from the Viktor Orban playbook.

When something happens that you don't like, try to blame the rich Jewish person working clandestinely and nefariously in the background.

Has anyone in British politics had an easier ride than Rory Stewart? Centrists absolutely blowing their load about him today, as if he was ever anything more than a slightly odd looking yet still run of the mill Tory with a horrendous voting record.

Amazing how easily the likes of Dunty et al are impressed by things like video blogs and wacky ideas about conscription. James O'Brien said on his show earlier that Rory was a thoughtful politician because he once paused for a long time before answering one of his questions. I mean it's just laughable.

She’s a vile, nasty, incompetent cunt and there’s plenty to call her out on without making stuff up.

Thats not antisemitic.

I’d be pissed off if it was alleged against Corbyn and I’m pissed off with it here as it actually hinders the case against antisemitism and racism.

You forgot the bit about wanting to shag her, to be honest. Other than that, I agree.

Also, I want to mention that if it was Corbyn or one of his allies, I think the right and centre right on here would have posted it as evidence of hatred and antisemitism before any of the left on here woke up. It's nice to see most of the left-leaning posters on here have acted consistently.

Well, yeah, and more importantly so would most of the media, including the supposedly liberal outlets.
