Song for Kuyt

I'm not a natural at this sort of thing, but to the tune of the Doobie Brothers' Long Train Runnin':

Down by the Kop

Liverpool win a pen

Here comes Kuyt

Running up

To ping one in again

Without Dirk

Where would we be now?

Without DIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIRRRRRRRRRRRRRKKKKK.

Glad someone has started this thread again. I still can't believe the man doesn't get vocal recognition. Maxi got one straight away before he'd done anything.

Why does it have to be a witty catchy song ? In the 70's and 80's Phil Neal, another right sided dependable player, used to be appreciated with a simple 'Phil Neal clap clap clap'.

Point being he received the recogniton his consistent performances deserved.

As for songs how about the theme tune to the 70's detective series set in Amsterdan called Van der Valk? (sorry about the arl arse reference again). I'm sure it can be you tubed for those not familiar. great choon!

A good tune doesn't always need words.

:wallbutt::wallbutt:IT'S THE FINAL KUYTDOWN:wallbutt:

de de de der, de de de der, de de de der, de de de de derr

de de de der, de de de der, de de de der, de de de de derr

de de de der, de de de der, de de de der, de de de de derr

de de de der, de de de der, de de de der, de de de de derr,

de de de de de de de de derr, de de de derrrr

alt version

:wallbutt::wallbutt:IT'S THE FINAL KUYTDOWN:wallbutt:

de de de der, de de de der, de de de der, THE FINAL KUYTDOWN

de de de der, de de de der, de de de der, THE FINAL KUYTDOWN

Scarves waving in the air and the kop bouncing to this would undoubtedly be fucking boss! (especially if everyone dropped in some air guitar along the way, maybe badge man would do some for us as he's so uber cool)

Another slight revision:

I'm not a natural at this sort of thing, but to the tune of the Doobie Brothers' Long Train Runnin':

Down at the Kop end

Liverpool win a pen

Here comes Kuyt

Running up

To ping one in again

Without Dirk

Where would we be now?

Without DIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIRRRRRRRRRRRRRKKKKK.

  • 9 months later...

I've already had a piss-poor attempt at this so I'm out.

But I'm bloody glad he finally has a winner's medal to show for all his efforts over the past 5½ years. The last trophy of any sort we'd won was the 2006 Community Shield, and he hadn't joined the club at that point.

Was trying to put something to this the other day...

You spin me right round, baby

right round like a record, baby

Right round round round

You score goals dirk kuyt, Dirk Dirk

Kuyt Kuyt in the final Dirk Kuyt

Dirk Dirk Kuyt Kuyt.

Or something like that... anyone care to try to arrange that to work?
