Hes a braver man than me going there. Its funny how the Trumpoids keep portraying him as a warrior when he dodged the draft. I dont get one bit of that.

Most of them are too thick to realise he's taking the piss out of them to their stupid faces. The flag with trump on a velociraptor firing a machine gun was outstanding. Absolute headtheballs the lot of them.

Former president Donald Trump has announced that he will launch his own social media app and news company to compete with “big tech.”

The move comes nine months after he was banned from several social media platforms for his role in the 6 January US Capitol riots that left five people dead.

The new company, named Trump Media & Technology Group, will launch its own app called “TRUTH Social”.

“I created TRUTH Social and TMTG to stand up to the tyranny of Big Tech. We live in a world where the Taliban has a huge presence on Twitter, yet your favourite American President has been silenced. This is unacceptable,” Mr Trump said in a press release.

Didn't he try something like this before, and it bombed?

Trading in Trump-linked SPAC Digital World Acquisition Corp. were halted after shares soared following the announcement of the former president’s social media network "Truth Social."

Digital World Acquisition’s stock was the most actively traded stock on Fidelity, as well as the consolidated tape of the New York Stock Exchange and Nasdaq listings, CNBC reported.

Said it before but I think Trump and the Republicans have thrived on the mindset created by evangelism.

By that I mean, the ides of denying the evidence of your eyes and ears and hoping that somehow, someday, you're going to get the just rewards you're owed if you endure enough hardship and just keep the faith.

When you see these American towns where homes are repossessed and shops are closed, but there's sboug15 churches on the same street. The idea that 'yes, it's shit, but if you keep praying shit is going to work out.' Don't blame the man, blame the devil. It's not like economics are within the control of man.

The republicans seem to specialise in that. Their version of heaven is the imaginary 50s America, if you keep voting them one day you will be Kevin from the Wonder Years.

To be fair, not too dissimilar to Tories who keep expecting to get 1950s britain back, while a 3rd of the globe was pink and before Europe ruined our lives.

Yeah we're no different at all now, less the religion angle and more the blaming of 'other'.

It is two different things.

They (Republican party) did understand the power of "Happy Days" back to Reagan, but it has nothing to do with Church per se. You are right they did capitalize on that willingness to distort reality. It has become more to do with fear of becoming less powerful racially, I think, for most of them. Trumpers that is, not evangelists - that is equal opportunity.

The reason there are 5 Churches each block is because they are tax free and the businesses they run are as well.

Almost easier to be a Preacher than a pimp.

I might sign up and post a few Truths about trump myself. See what they think of free speech then.

There's absolutely zero chance of him running to win, I'll grant you he might run to get loads of donations in and then he'll quit the race, but he wants to be President about as much as I want to be Prince Andrew's head of PR.

It's fascinating viewing as a real-time study on how a nation descends into tyranny. This Truth Social app is just the Reich Ministry of Enlightenment and Propaganda for the social media age. One news source for all Trump supporters. Everything else is fake. He can incite violence through his news station without being de-platformed. He's coming for democracy itself this time.
