“Amnesty International, that hypocritical organisation that speaks in the name of human rights, is acting to promote a boycott of Israelis as part of a campaign of antisemitic delegitimisation,” Erdan said at the time.

In other words - Don't criticise us for being dirty evil murdering corrupt cunts or we will just throw the anti-semite slander at you and make ourselves the victims. Fucking abhorrent cunt

There does seem to be an almost unhealthy obsession about Trump from many people that do not actually live in the USA.

Hands up, I had almost no idea who he was when he stood, I don't watch reality TV shite and had never actually heard him talk. In fact I heard people doing impressions of him long before I heard or saw him speaking. Now I can see he's a brash, boastful little man who has not a slice of statesmanship about him. As a figurehead the American people deserve better, but you could look all through the politics of many countries and say exactly the same. And Trump doesn't have much actual power at all.

In a world of news outlets needing clicks Trump is a gift, annoyingly we don't also have to contend with the vile pricks that mismanage our country we also have to endure non stop crap about Trump too. The bad part for the American people is that the constant piling on about Trump has given all of the other twats from across the political spectrum an easy time. I genuinely have no idea what they're all going to do when he is eventually booted out of the whitehouse, they may have to go back to being honest. I'm joking, politicians and news media don't understand honestly.

The obsession here in the UK with Trump wouldn't be so bad if it wasn't for the fact we have a bigger idiot in power here. If you're spending time hating Trump and you don't live in the USA then you're not spending enough time with what you should be concerned about, Boris and his band of greedy lying cunts. Or you're being played, distracted with something that you shouldn't be overly concerned with. Which is probably closer to the truth.

You may say that the USA does have some influence on our lives, but I'll point you to many other world leaders who persecute their citizens, give then no freedoms. On the scale of truly evil world leaders Trump or Boris wouldn't score very high at all, that doesn't make them good of course and it doesn't mean that they're not dangerous in their own way. I just don't understand the obsession with Trump over some truly evil bastards out there.

This doesn't make me some MAGA hat wearing Trump fan, I don't much care for the man and have mentioned many times that at a time when we desperately needed a statesman, neither us nor the Americans have one. Obama (I'm not interested in his politics) was very statesmanlike, and many people would have listened to him and trusted him in a time of crisis.

One of the reasons apparently for lockdowns not being as effective as they could be is non compliance, (This isn't my fact, so go and argue with the people that claim it. Edinburgh University study, published in the Lancet) and this is probably due to most of us believing Boris is an idiot, or the mixed messages we've been given, or their incompetence. This list goes on.

As the result of the USA election has little influence on most of us, I am hoping Biden wins. (fuck those poor bastards don't have a great choice to they?) if only so I don't have to hear the word Trump ever again, although my granddaughter laughs every time she hears it mentioned on the TV.

I hate Drumpf & Johnson in equal measure. Both absolute cunts who have no interest in doing their actual jobs just want the kudo's it brings.

Fuck them both. If not for CV19/Brexit I'd be looking to fuck off to Canada/Germany ASAP

TL:DR?

A load of the fallacy of appeal to moral equivalency.

If I was a drinker I'd take a shot (drink) now. Ignoring the important things in life to obsess over the trivial is not healthy whatever you try to wave at me to dismiss it. (I'm not pointing fingers at anyone on this forum as I am not in the slightest bit aware of people's private lives)

Maybe some of the obsessed need a distraction from covid, job losses, loss of freedoms and Trump at least gives then something to throw their emotions at. If that's the case and it works for some then fine. I still find a lot of the obsession from people for whom he has absolutely no impact on very strange.

There's hardly a fucking thread on here that doesn't descend into Trump or Brexit, the latter I can at least understand. And that includes the FF.

I cannot control how people decide to spend their time on here posting, but it's getting pretty tedious and maybe a break is needed until after the election by myself, when hopefully the obsession is cured. Maybe then people will switch their attentions to what is actually going on behind their backs on their own doorsteps.

Jedd I think Trumps election affects us all in potentially massive ways . His dangerous foreign policies , his refusal to act on climate change and his support of Brexit and Johnson to name a few . I don’t think it’s obsession or lashing out that drives people to post but genuine concern that we are looking at the possibility of Trump remaining as the most powerful man on the planet for the next 4 years

I'd counter by saying that this is the important stuff, people, rules, laws, regulations and impositions that are going to dominate ours and our childrens lives for years are of the utmost importance and should never be relegated to anything other than such. If we allow apathy to creep in then liberties will be lost through acquiescence. If you're OK with that then you never have any recourse to argue when your heating bill goes up, your job is outsourced, funding to your kids schools is reduced, working conditions are reduced, laws are made and broken, money is siphoned off to their donor friends and so on ad infinitum.

I however will not stop screaming, ever.

There's many reasons to be concerned about Biden and Trump, but to reply to what's quoted : If Trump is elected again and manages to do a trade deal with Johnson that'll almost definitely be a massive concern for us. US corporations and Trump along with Johnson and a Tory majority that can't be touched could result in a complete nightmare. One that'd be tied up in international trade agreements and that might not be very easy to unravel at all if it ever takes place.

Historian Jon Meacham:

“I think Trump did himself good with his base tonight. The question for America is how big that base is," Meacham said before later adding, "There is a lizard brain in this country. Donald Trump is a product of the white man's, the anguished, nervous white guy's lizard brain.”

"Many people call it the 'Lizard Brain,' because the limbic system is about all a lizard has for brain function. It is in charge of fight, flight, feeding, fear, freezing up, and fornication," Psychology Today adds.

And in other news:

A North Carolina man who was indicted last month on charges of child pornography also had plans to commit a mass shooting during the holidays and assassinate Democratic presidential nominee Joe Biden.

A federal grand jury indicted 19-year-old Alexander Hillel Treisman, who also used the alias Alexander S. Theiss, in September on charges of knowingly possessing an image that contained child pornography. When authorities investigated Treisman’s electronic devices, they discovered a bounty of disturbing information.

Who you callin Lizard Brain!!
