So, to surmise during the break, Kavanaugh has refused repeated opportunities to invite a full FBI investigation that would conclusively clear him and restore his reputation and also refused the opportunity to take a polygraph, both of which his chief accuser has invited. However, he has brought his calender's/diaries along to the hearing to substantiate his defence? On the basis of that alone it would be unfair if he wasn't already a shoe in. The big innocent honest bastard!

So the Republican logic is the Democrats said they would vote against, so there is no need for a FBI investigation as the Democrats will vote against no matter what. 

 

How about a FBI investigation to find out if a man committed sexual assault, seems crazy I know...

 

By the Republican logic, they are not going to change their minds, even if the FBI found evidence of assault, so again no need to involve the FBI. Yet they are taking the moral high ground.

Fox news are loving both him and Graham for finally saying how the Democrats are trying to politicise it.

Only hope for the democrats is if they take both Senate and house, they can bring impeachment proceedings against Kavanaugh, should an investigation find he's committed what he's being accused of. Much easier to remove a supreme court judge than a sitting president.
