Cheers. I’m more concerned for my mate and his kids.  She’s his fucking rock & got him through some really horrible stuff a good few years ago.   I gave my Mrs a bear hug when she got hold and bawled my eyes out again.

Fingers crossed that it's alright. That's the scary thing with cancer though, it comes down to hope.

I'm sorry and you're in our thoughts.

I've had a bump in the road with my remission. As part of my surveillance they picked up something on my scans before Xmas. So yesterday I had an operation to remove it. It could have been really tricky and despite a 7 hour op, I've got the best possible outcome. So I've just got to wait for the biopsy results and hopefully this is in the tail view mirror for me again.

Keeping everything crossed for you Mr Wom. Keep living in hope and don't let the bastard Scotsmen from Hull grind you down.

A bloke who works in our place has been fighting this bastard of a disease for a while now sadly he's been given the bad news that he's only got between 3 and 6 months to live .

The generosity of our place knows no bounds as they had him in last week on Capability,  he's a driver,  anyway he didn't take the offer of a job in the Warehouse so they have terminated his contract.

Can they do that?

I think because they offered him another job albeit a part time warehouse position and he turned it down I think ( but stand corrected if I'm wrong) they can , it's a terrible company to work for they have form for this behaviour  they have done it to at least 2 more people that I know off

MacMillans give really good legal advice - there is protection in law for cancer affected employees, so it might be worth discussing it with them to see if it can be fought. I had a similar situation and my employer backed down (offered another post, but not one I could take due to a compromised immune system). My employer backed off.

Awful that he's got terminal cancer to deal with, and then some bastards add more misery.

Can't ask for more than, "best possible outcome" with this cunt cancer.

Sounds promising.

My mum was told she was entitled to an extra 500 quid a month once she got the bad news. She didn't claim it as her work were still paying her but in-case he isn't aware he's definitely entitled to extra.

I try and avoid this thread like the plague, because this cunt of a disease scares the fucking shit out of me.

So my deepest sympathies to anyone that's fighting it and I wish you the absolute best of luck with what comes.

Personally, my 66 year old father is now waiting to give his 69 year old brother a plasma transplant because he's got leukaemia.

My dad is pretty blahzay about it, but my cousins think he's an absolute hero for what he's doing, as do I.

It's still a little up in the air whether the transplant will go ahead, as my uncle is currently undergoing chemo but has to hold at a certain number to gain any benefit from a transplant. But fingers crossed everything goes according to plan

An update from my mate this morning having been to see the specialist with his wife.

Another two scans over the next two weeks, then three months Chemo & then hopefully operation.
Got everything crossed that all goes well.

Tough gig for all the vist to see the specialist.

Digging deep doesn't come into it.

Me mams husband has had 3 surgeries so far and still has 2 drains in his chest draining about a pint and a half of infection every 24 hours.

He starts immunotherapy next week. Once a week for a year he has to go to Cheltenham for treatment.

Just depends whether this will do the job, as they can’t operate on the lymph nodes it’s spread to.

Shit pal, that's awful. My thoughts really go out to you all. It makes you wonder how people are able to cope.
