Some bad news before as I think my father in law may have it.

He's been having reflux for a while and went for a scope today, they spotted loads of ulcers and 'something else' as they worded it, with the doctor saying 'it didn't look good' which was a pretty shitty way to do it IMO.

They've taken biopsies and he's got to go for a full body scan, probably next week.

The Mrs found out by text then phonecall from her sister before and phoned me in tears. I felt sick because I couldn't be physically be there for her.

He's an absolutely incredible man, a real family man and a truly beautiful soul. I've felt sick about it all day and even had a little cry, which is highly unusual for me, not because I'm hard, but that part of my brain doesn't usually function very well.

Hopefully in a week or so we'll have some solid news and an idea where to go next, rather than some seat of the pants chin rub from Dr Feelgood.

Life eh. It's humdrum until it's not.

My uncle is undergoing radiotherapy for throat cancer and has been told it's 50/50 as to whether it'll work. We aren't close as we never have been really with all my aunties and uncles but he's a really nice bloke, so hope he pulls through.

He obviously can't go out apart from his daily radiotherapy due to his immune system being very low.

Best wishes gents.

Absolute twat of a disease.

50/50 is still a chance mate, fingers crossed for him.

A really good friend of mine in Australia has been having BCCs cut off his nose and face for years, lots of small ones every year. After his latest check up this year he got shunted through a load of specialists because he has major problems now. Fortunately now he has to go through a major teaching Hospital on the Gold coast rather than being turned away in New South Wales because they're chock a block with covid patients.

He will require 20 hours of surgery shared between 3 specialist surgeons, losing his nose, his cheek and part of his jaw and having them recreated by plastic surgeons and then needing radiation therapy.

Poor cunt doesn't deserve this.

Ah fuck. The poor bugger has just had more MRIs. It has spread in the last two weeks to the stage where it is inoperable. They are putting him on chemo and radiation to give him as long as possible but it will be a matter of months at the best.

I feel really helpless stuck here in Vietnam and unable to offer him the kind of support I would like to be able to give him and his wife.

Mixed news.

Scan shows it’s in Gra’s lymphatic system, but only showing in one node (at the moment) in his breast.

He’ll be booked in for urgent surgery to remove the lymph node and then 12 months Immunotherapy.

They’ll rescan after surgery and hope it’s not spread anywhere else.

‘Concerning shadows’ on his bladder.

Being booked in for more scans.
