My Mrs operation on Thursday was more complicated apparently so she was due out today now it’s Thursday, standard practice. They knew it was standard practice on Thursday yet here am I waiting to go to Manchester only to be told no. Sorry to sound ungrateful but after last year I’m pissed off. Will visit later though as I suddenly can.

When I had my cancer surgery my release date was also postponed for a few days until Christmas eve. It was awkward and a pain in the hole at the time but my thinking was that fuckit, it's only a few days and I'll be out of it for the rest of my (hopefully long) life.

There will be more little setbacks. Have to learn to roll with them. Enjoy the visit and give her our best.

A really good friend of mine in Australia has been having BCCs cut off his nose and face for years, lots of small ones every year. After his latest check up this year he got shunted through a load of specialists because he has major problems now. Fortunately now he has to go through a major teaching Hospital on the Gold coast rather than being turned away in New South Wales because they're chock a block with covid patients.

He will require 20 hours of surgery shared between 3 specialist surgeons, losing his nose, his cheek and part of his jaw and having them recreated by plastic surgeons and then needing radiation therapy.

Poor cunt doesn't deserve this.

This reminds me of an old friend of my dad's who he used to go the match with. Mike ended up having his tongue and most of his jaw removed. I went to Anfield a couple of times with him afterwards and it was an insight into a world I hope I never have the misfortune of ending up in, because half the people you'd pass in the street would be staring. I felt so sorry for him. I wish your friend all the very best. Cancer is hard enough in itself, when it's accompanied with facial disfigurement there's no hiding place, it's there all the time for the whole world to see.

A lad I knew from a kid had an eye, part of the socket and his cheekbone removed about 20 years ago, so he would have been late 30's - 40 at the time.

He was never really a mate because we moved in different circles, but if we saw each other we'd let on.

I would never have known who he was when I saw him, it was only for the fact he was with his kid brother that I realised who he was.

He never spoke and was just shying away. Very sad.

Haven't seen him in about 10 years come to think of it. Poor sod.

Lost my Mother to this and celebrate my Wife beating it.

FUCK YOU CANCER.

Hope anyone affected on here gets the news/results they need.

A 10-year-old cancer patient, who fulfilled a final wish to cook with TV chef Gordon Ramsay and won support from Premier League footballers and other celebrities, has died.

Sophie Fairall, from Stubbington, Hampshire, was diagnosed with a rare form of tissue cancer last September.

How the fuck do you tell a child that's it?

Serious questions to God if I ever get there.

FUCK YOU CANCER.

I read about the little girl yesterday. Breaks your heart.

I'm reminded of a Depeche Mode song.

'I don't want to start any blasphemous rumours

but I think that God's got a sick sense of humour

and when I die, I expect to find him laughing'.

I'm glad your wife is ok and I hope your mum and this little girl rest well.

Cheers H.

I only want to see kids smile and be happy.

Think Stephen Fry's comments on meeting God sums it up better than me, well worth a watch.

Her Indoor's great niece is 18 today. She's had a growth on her neck recently and this morning she had a blood test and tomorrow it's the biopsy. Cracking lass she is so everyone's bricking it. Should have the results next week.

Fingers and everything crossed.

Some bad news before as I think my father in law may have it.

He's been having reflux for a while and went for a scope today, they spotted loads of ulcers and 'something else' as they worded it, with the doctor saying 'it didn't look good' which was a pretty shitty way to do it IMO.

They've taken biopsies and he's got to go for a full body scan, probably next week.

The Mrs found out by text then phonecall from her sister before and phoned me in tears. I felt sick because I couldn't be physically be there for her.

He's an absolutely incredible man, a real family man and a truly beautiful soul. I've felt sick about it all day and even had a little cry, which is highly unusual for me, not because I'm hard, but that part of my brain doesn't usually function very well.

Hopefully in a week or so we'll have some solid news and an idea where to go next, rather than some seat of the pants chin rub from Dr Feelgood.

Life eh. It's humdrum until it's not.

My uncle is undergoing radiotherapy for throat cancer and has been told it's 50/50 as to whether it'll work. We aren't close as we never have been really with all my aunties and uncles but he's a really nice bloke, so hope he pulls through.

He obviously can't go out apart from his daily radiotherapy due to his immune system being very low.

Ah mate, it's horrible when you get news like this especially when it involves someone close, who you clearly love and respect.

I know you'll worry yourselves sick, but my advice is wait for the results of the tests, it's possible that it's treatable.

Having a bit of a weep in these situations is very normal and shows your compassion and humanity.

I know it's difficult,  I've been there, but positivity is your friend and will help you support your wife and family.

Whatever it is has been spotted, so hopefully treatment can start soon for the best possible outcome.

Kindest thoughts to you all.
