2 years today since my dad died. Never realised how tough it would and still could be. Went for a meal with my mum and sister and new nephew today. Sister was pregnant when he died but didn't know, he would had loved his new grandson

Good result in the match for him. He was on his last legs when we beat barca but he predicted 4 nil and was made up

It's 9 years since I lost my Dad and I still have my moments. He died 3 weeks before my Grandson, his first Great Grandchild was born.

He couldn't hold on, and truth be known, as much as I'd have loved him to have seen him, he was in that much pain I'm glad he didn't.

He was diagnosed in the 1st of February and died on the 23rd of March, one week after my Mum and Dads 50th wedding anniversary.

The way it was is something I don't think I'll ever completely get over but it does get easier, but those moments do have a habit of catching me unaware.

Cancer is such a bastard.

Love and kind thoughts to all those affected by this awful, awful disease.

I couldn't put it better mate. I've sorta prepared myself for today, birthday ect. But it doesn't happen like that it hits hard and quick. You can't prepare yourself

He wasted away at the end. He never complained, even when he was ill he'd say he was fine.

Worst thing was my mum had major heart surgery so couldn't be with him at the end. They separated due to his boozing but she still loved him. She paid for his funeral but was so ill she couldn't be at the wake

My ex, my mrs and a friend are walking 13 miles in the Yorkshire Dales to raise money for Macmillan.

That’s quite a challenge for her, so I’m pretty proud of her for taking it on.

if anyone has a couple of quid they’d be happy to donate, it’ll help keep them spurred on to the finish.

Just wanted to say a big thanks to all of you that donated to this, and helped get over £1,100 raised which they were thrilled with.

they completed what was billed as 13 miles but was actually 14.5 in the end, in mostly constant rain and did so with a smile on their faces.

we had a few tears at the end which were mostly pride.

Thanks all. TLW is boss.

My Dad has just been diagnosed with pancreatic cancer. They're doing more tests to see what more they can find out but it doesn't look good. He's 81, from Birkenhead and I'm fucking devvoed. What an arsehole of a disease. By all accounts it's one of the most lethal yet under researched cancers.

@Redder Lurtz sorry to hear this. Try for you or someone else to be with your dad when seeing his oncologist and other specialists. It's so difficult to take in everything they're saying. And if you are thinking about stuff that you need to ask the doctors, make sure you write them down, as once you're in the room with them, your brain just can't recall anything. Good luck to you and your dad.

Cheers lads. One of the hardest things is that my folks retired to Devon. I've not seen them for over a year and a half because of fucking covid. He's in hospital but hopefully home next week and I'm due my 2nd jab so at least I'll be able to visit.

Awful news mate, very sorry to hear that.

Pancreatic Cancer is a little bastard, the symptoms tend to hide themselves until it's advanced so it's hard to diagnose early like some other cancers.

Just help him keep fighting mate. Wilko Johnson was diagnosed with this a few years back and they gave him a few months, yet he's still going so anything is possible.

I'm really sorry to hear this mate. My thoughts are with you, your Dad and your family.

Terrible news.
