I’d love to have heard that. The phone in after they lose (especially if we’ve won) over the years is one of life’s great pleasures. It’s like someone’s tuned a radio in to listen live to US signals radios on the ground from Vietnam and The Battle of Hue.

And that’s just Kevin Ratcliffe.

I worked with 4 bitters who went on about that all day the Monday after it happened. It properly burnt their minds our.

They were looking up all kinds of facts to prove they weren't a small club.

He didn't even say "Everton are a small club". He criticised their playing style and likened it to a league 2 in an fa cup tie. They lost the plot over it as they have a massive inferiority complex.

The blues moaning about the council fucking them over about the transport for the new ground because all they've done is put a few barriers in at Sandhills Station.

Yet 8 years ago the council asked Everton to contribute to transport links and they told the council to fuck off.

Everton were dragging their heels about contributing to the tarmac and barriers at Sandhills, the tight cunts.

Their decision to relocate to an unsuitable location has caused massive transport problems for the Council and Merseytravel, and the tight cunts don't want to do anything to solve those problems.

It’s as if this eyesore on the shore has just risen out of the docks overnight. They’ve known about the issues they’re gonna have with only having one access point to the stadium yet ignored it like the ignore every problem coming their way.

They could have built a new station at that plot of vacant land opposite the Titanic and next to the canal but that would have meant them contributing a bit of money.

It's brilliant watching them all having a meltdown about a situation they created. But it's all Steve Rotherham the Kopite trying to sabotage their new stadium.

Leaving County Road to rot after contributing nothing to the area for over 30 years.

The peoples club though.

I saw something about their club shop at Goodison needing a new tenant.  It was designed to look like their badge, so that sort of limits possible new uses.

well with all the public money that is going to build infrastructure in Trafford and Salford to enable manchester united's new stadium, all the money that was pumped into manchester infrastructure to enable the commonwealth games leading to providing manchester city with a stadium and their golden goose, and the public purse contributions that we continue to see to facilitate west ham at their shithole, maybe they would have a point. i think it is a point we should be making too. improved transport links would not just be a benefit for the football club, they make the area more attractive to outside investment.

Guess who’s the taken the most emotional ownership of an incident during a game which had nothing to do with them?

I can't read that forum, my memories of how to navigate 1990's chat room formats have abandoned me, just like hope abandons Evertonians.

True but their history of taking money off the council annoys me. They've had a training ground bought and upgraded as well as a grant to restore buildings in the Dock area but they won't contribute towards upgrading a new station or a new one. They spend £780m on the stadium but refused point blank to even put £10m towards upgrading Sandhills.

Anfield will never go over 68,000 because it would cost £350m to put in signals and a new station on the Canada Dock goods line and even then it would probably only get used on matchdays because of the freight trains.
