Apparently Spurs v Wolves Semi Final at Hillsborough just a few years before our second semi final in 89 could easily have resulted in a similar outcome and authorities knew how bad that stadium was at least half a decade before our Semi Final. I've said it many times on here but the FA has got away with nowhere near the amount of blame they should have taken for our 89 semi final. Others were culpable of course but the FA was up there with them in the blame stakes.

The 88 semi with the same 2 clubs was fucking awful and the fa turned a deaf ear to complaints. The same stadium today still has problems in the same end and the capacity is next to nothing compared to that day and yet they're still allowed to keep it open.

1981 - fans were allowed over fences and sat on perimeter of pitch. Some hurt.

The place was a disaster waiting to happen.

A former workmate of mine, great lad, is a Spuds fan, and he was at that game in 81, and remembers sitting on the perimeter of the pitch.

He said the disaster happening at Hillsborough was just about the least surprising thing he could have imagined, and it could have been anybody it happened to. I remember him texting me when the inquest verdicts were quashed with the words 'about time'.

Couple of things from Walton after they’ve hung on against Spurs Seconds*

https://members.boardhost.com/everton-forum/thread/1737297209.html

I caught the Sky goals highlights package on YT tonight and Carra was creaming himself over their two finishes.

What did he say throughout the rest of the game that’s offended them so much?

Also, as an aside, the spitting thing. Did he know the girl was there and still spat or did he deliberately spit at her?

I was always under the impression he spat towards the car, didn’t see the kid and some of it landed on her?

They’re very much acting like he aimed at her.

*how I’ll describe spurs tomorrow to the workplace blue nose who will also have watched it on a dodgy box like those pricks, despite being a “massive blue, a proper one.”

He is of course 100% right on both counts!

I see Richy lad was doing a lap of honour at Woodison today as its the last time he will play there. Apart from Rooney they love welcoming back players who fucked them off at the drop of a hat.

When you can barely get a shag any scruffy arl tart who flashes her knickers at you for a moment is a big deal.

Everton supporting mate of mine was waxing on about him posting loads of Everton related stuff today and how he'd love to have him back.

I wasn't at that, i was in Oz enjoying the sunshine. Got back for Heysel though, the worst night of my life. Looking back it was fucking awful then and how nobody got killed at a game in this country is beyond me.

We were lucky I suppose because there was always so many of us. A couple of the cockney clubs were dodgy, salford was a bloody joke when their dickheads acted up but the worst away trip was fucking Leeds. The walk back up to the station was terrifying. One game, when the final whistle went a load of our lot were singing 'we want an escort'. One occasion one of their looneys was walking around the station precinct wielding a full sized claw hammer.

It scares me when I look back.

I remember being in the away end around 72 and 2 lads in our end were throwing snooker balls . Outside yeah it was bad , loads of the fuckers around the coaches.

It was a scumbag thing to do. I dont get why the other guy gets let off though..I doubt carragher was driving along and decided I know I'll give this guy shit. This guy with his daughter in the car has been goading carrager and being an all round gobshite one of those who feels entitled that they can give footballers abuse if they see them. Carra let himself down but that other guy is a massive prick too. Drive your car safely and shut the fuck up.

Of course the other guy is a prick. But he's just a manc cunt and has nothing to do with us. Why would anyone care about him? He's a no mark and got his 15 minutes of manc herodom by managing to entice a reaction from carragher. Carragher was in his car, all he needs to do is keep his window up, play his music and ignore the cunt. But he didn't.

Seems every game little arms is pictured 'shouting'/looking angry. That and flying out of his goal recklessly seem to be about his gig.

I watched about 10 minutes of the first half and there was a nothing incident where O'Brien got to a loose ball in the area about 5 yards before softlad, who was racing out of his goal to pick the ball up. O'Brien passed a decent ball to his right back and Pickford just went berserk and started stamping his feet and waving his arms like a 3 year old child. It was fucking ridiculous.

I've always wondered what could be worse than listening to that type of music.

Turns out it's listening to that type of music but it's also about Everton.

To be fair, it did take a full 9 seconds before they mentioned us.
