Who do they think they are?

Dyche has done a very good job for them - kept them up, kept them organised and kept the playing side on an even keel throughout multiple points deductions, endless signature boardroom upheaval, a mess of a squad, no cash and god knows what type of behind the scenes carryings on underneath a clearly bent set up.

Yet they’re treating him like Medieval royals treat servants.

The delusion is baffling, yet they call us arrogant.

When was their last decent side? Ancelotti for a season, top 7,8? Moyes’s lasts season, 7th was it?

Then his 4th place in 04/05, before that 95 and they finished bottom 8 in the league then?

It is the delusion and entitlement that makes them so funny.

They'll run Dyche out of town because they think they should be better, but actually he is perfect for them - he utilises the shite he has in a way that maximises their few strengths and covers for their many, many weaknesses about as well as could hope.

He has made them relatively difficult to beat often enough and awkward to play against and he knows how to keep them out of trouble and has stabilised them nicely clear of the dogfight.

But let them run him out of town and hopefully they bring in a clown like DeTory who will no doubt have them relegated within a few years - if the poor fucker whoever he is can stick it that long or is given that long.

He does suit them and you’re right, let them bomb him out, bring in some beaut who fancies himself, gets into a footballing culture war death cycle with them after spending a fortune, rinse and repeat.

The Ancelotti season doesn't count remember.

I love this rebuttal whenever they go on the front foot about the Asterisk Title - so your Ancelotti run plus anfield derby win which loads of you changed your pictures to, doesnt count then either?

*something muttered about Kuyt not being sent off for making zero contact with Phil Neville in 1983*

This is what i have never got about them. They had 3 good seasons in the 80s and apart from their title win in 1970 they did nothing that decade either. They've won nothing  for the last 30 years and qualified for European football about 6 times. They are just seen as anything between perennial relegation strugglers to lower table non entities.

Yet their fans seem to think they are some worldwide footballing institution. They are only relevant because of us.

We have the same number of major trophies this century as they have in their entire club history (15 excluding charity shields).
