Haha.

But to be fair its a fucking great stadium in a fucking great location.

Nah, it’s the modern design ethos of wrapping a decent exterior around a bang average interior and then putting the work iconic into every press release or tweet you put out to hope it seeps into public consciousness.

Anfield May be more traditional but it’s a truly iconic because it’s gone to ten most successful club in the UK, has actual trophies innit instead of a cuckoo clock, and a team beloved by millions around the globe. The aura surrounding it will always make it more iconic than the Slave Pen (they don’t like you associating it with Bramley Moore’s slavery past).

Edit: the top bit looks like a kitchen extractor unit.

To be fair to them the outside of it is boss.

The inside however is utterly devoid of any character - it's just a bigger Leicester ground.

There's a nice "form follows function" thing there: any stadium where Everton play is going to be much better outside than inside.

From that angle it doesn't look like a football stadium it could be an airport building.

From the outside, when you look at it from the city end, it looks like any modern airport terminal.

It looks best in aerial photos. I'm not sure how that improves the matchday experience.

Looks like generic stadium v37 to me.

Actually this is deffo the architects mini version or digitally made version with the real landscape blended around it. The trees and people are unrealistic, and I doubt they’ve planted trees yet.

They've always been like that, though a select few are fast coming round to the realities their current situation may bring.
