A blue I know says he’s been told that Calvert-Lewin is joining Newcastle for £25m and it will be announced as soon as the window opens. Apparently he was earning £130k a week with Everton and he’s told them he would be running his contract down.

With wingers who can swing the ball in he’s a decent striker.

Can we have Guimares and let them have knickers and bra’s

Kompany gets Burnley promoted, were utter shite, got relegated and he’s ended up with the Bayern job.

Dyche gets Burnley promoted, keeps them up for 5 seasons, they qualify for Europe and he’s still lumbered with these bums.

The 2 reds getting treated with class & dignity I was taking about the other day.

That’s nasty.

The lad on the right looks as though he may be on the spectrum too, so I’m sure that having a bunch of strangers chanting at him, and pulling at his face, is particularly horrendous.

Plenty of Blues defending it regardless.

Strange behaviour.

And maths obviously isn’t their strong point given how it panned out, we lost it v Palace.

Still, at least they feel relevant for 5 mins.

Unless there is a big fire sale (ie Branthwaite, Pickford, Calvert-Lewin, Onana, eeerrrmmm…) and they go into administration, it’s difficult to make a case for them to be relegated next season.

Ipswich will go straight back down with a reckon low total, Southampton will struggle, depends what Leicester start the season on…

Surely (not that it really matters but hey) you 'lose' the league on the day it becomes mathematically impossible for you to win it....

I follow that new Blackstock Market venue on Instagram. Went to an audience with John Barnes thing a few weeks back.

Anyway, they had one today with Big Nev and Joe “Pie Head” Royle. The compere doing it posted pics on Instagram. One with the two aforementioned players. And one with Pat van den Hauwe, who just went along to watch.

He looks a bit…er…different to how I remember him. Has he been managing in Turkey?

A lot of different people involved in owning the club? Uncle Uzzie is still around?

It's probably the creditors. If MSP are not paid out shortly, they get 50% of the club and 1 share or something. Or 25% if the stadium. And that media rights funding can block any sale if it doesn't value the club to meet their expectations - so they much have a similar guarantee on that debt to MSP.

Why couldn't they announce it now? The window doesn't have to be open to announce transfers.

I think you're probably right.  As of today, I'd say that Ipswich and Southampton are on a return ticket, which leaves one relegation spot for Leicester, Forest and Everton to squabble over.  Of course, a lot can happen in the summer and during the course of a season; I'll just enjoy the days they lose (and I'm sure there will be plenty of them).

If Frank leaves, include Brentford in that squabble.

I think as long as they've got Toney, Mbuemo and Wissa, they'll have enough goals to keep their heads above water. (Mind you, it's far from guaranteed that they'll keep those three.)

It's almost impossible to judge the quality of the teams coming up. Nobody would have picked Luton to be the side that would put up the best fight this year. The worrying thing is it can almost feel like the gap is getting harder to bridge.

The points deductions where the only thing that kept up the pretence there was a relegation battle. Forest finished 6 points (7 with goal difference) ahead of Luton, 10 if you tack on the deducted points.

Leicester look likely to start next season on minus points and the other 2 are poor man's Burnleys. Only multiple points deductions or administration puts Everton in any sort of race.

Last season was the only real chance for them to go down and then cheated their way out of that. They should be bankrupt from other relegated teams suing them but it wont happen. Those powers that be are actually helping those fuckers.
