As it's the Eurovision final tonight, I just thought we should remember this pair of tragic gobshites.

If its not even Liverpools song then why are they storming out of a show that they've probably paid a fortune for tickets for?.

Desperate to be bitter Blue legends and end up on one of those forums about how bitter and petty you can be towards the redshite.

It was me that posted about there being a cut off for going into administration, but I did state that it could from a blue on of their forums. The poster stated that if a club went into administration after the end of March, the points deduction came in the following season. This was designed to prevent a club that was now safe or already down taking the piss to avoid a sanction. I’ve since read that this is a Football League rule, and not a Premier League rule, but haven’t seen anyone confirm this 100%.

Another thing I’ve read in the last few days, again from a blue, is that there is nothing set in stone in PL rules that administration equates to an automatic 9 points deduction, this is just assumed as it was the punishment given to Portsmouth. Apparently the PL could decide the punishment was 20 points if they felt Everton were trying to take the piss and assume going into administration now would automatically mean they had gamed the system, but that sounds like a litigious nightmare to me.

So being the tit I am, I decided to download the premier league handbook to take a quick look. The PL has the power to suspend them from the league, so I guess all bets are off. Do it nice or get fucked.

E.27. Subject to Rule E.35, the Board shall have power to suspend a Club by giving to it notice in writing to that effect if it or its Parent Undertaking suffers an Event of Insolvency, that is to say:

E.27.2.  it or its shareholders or Directors lodge a ‘Notice of Intention to Appoint an Administrator’ or ‘Notice of Appointment of an Administrator at the Court’ in accordance with paragraph 26 or paragraph 29 of Schedule B1 to the 1986 Act or where it or its shareholders or Directors make an application to the court for an ‘Administration Order’ under paragraph 12 of Schedule B1 to the 1986 Act or where an Administrator is appointed or an ‘Administration Order’ is made in respect of it (‘Administrator’ and ‘Administration Order’ having the meanings attributed to them respectively by paragraphs 1 and 10 of Schedule B1 to the 1986 Act);

So a storied club with the greatest fan base in the world is at the mercy of the corrupt powers that be. Shame.

This would be the most Everton thing of all time if it happened!

Some list...

If its based on their Everton career it can't be Rooney?

He had two seasons at the start of his career then another one where he unfit and over the hill.

It sounds like Southall was at his peak pre Premier league era too.

I'd argue it was Baines. He was really good for a decent period of time. Absolutely wasted his career with them.

Some of that list can't really be considered talented at all; I mean, Drunken?

A list of our most talented of the same era would include the likes of Barnes, McManaman, Fowler, Gerrard, Torres, Hyypia, Suarez, Salah, Alison, van Dijk, etc, etc.  I'm not sure any of that Everton list would find a place among our top 12.

Oh yeah, if they can get away with it now, they absolutely should do it. So the question is if they're allowed to do it and land the deduction this season?

To be fair, the mess of them I think they should be going into administration as soon as the last game is over. They can't possibly last into next season under the current situation and it becomes impossible (in law at least) for their directors to allow them to continue trading when there likelihood is they can't pay the bills. Which surely that's the case now with the mess 777 are in. The PL should accelerate that process by calling them not fit and proper owners once the season is done and cancel the takeover process.

Maybe they’ve got transfer deals in place that are gonna happen before June 30th and they’re “working with the FA” some more on that basis.

Sounds like they’re gonna need a positive net spend this time so the squad will be weaker and hopefully off the pitch their woes continue and they’re still struggling to stay afloat a month or two into next season.

It's based on talent, so yeah, he definitely fits the bill. It's still big Nev, but Rooney would be a comfortable 2nd.

The real issue they have now, is because insolvency is so real, even if they sell, legally they cannot enter into a deal to buy someone to replace them if they believe there's a probability they will be unable to pay. If they sell, they might just have to deal with their academy.

Neville Southall was a World Class keeper. I would have had him at us in a heartbeat.

Southall was a great keeper. Top bloke. Probably the best goalie they ever had. And past his best by the time the Premier League arrived - he turned 34 within a few weeks of it starting, and Everton spent several years buying promising young keepers who turned out to not be very good after all and Big Nev got given another year between the sticks.
I get the nostalgia though; it’s Arteta that really sticks out for me. A classy player, but I’m not convinced he’d make the list of Arsenal’s 12 best Premier League midfielders so that really speaks to how mediocre Everton have been for the last 30+ years.

Nev turned it on in games against us and the world was largely watching those games.

I don't think it's as simple as that he was generally excellent, but he probably had more exposure in derbies

Over on GOT they’re already talking like they’ll be restricted to loans and out of contract players, with the odd link to older players in the £3m-£5m range.

Meanwhile…

I don't think if administration is a possibility (which they can't deny now they have advisors in place) they can sign any contracts, unless they can pay them till the end, which would seem unlikely. Last year they were able to do that because they had all kinds going on with MSP followed by 777. Now they can't keep the lights on without 777, who are unable to complete the takeover and seem to be fucked all over the world across their other assets. Unless they find a way out of that, I think they can't sign anyone, it'll be the academy.

As for that list, it's fucking comical. If that has any edge on reality, we can get 200m got Nunez and another 80m for endo.
