Allerdyce back next season I reckon.

If he keeps them up, I don’t see Fwank staying long if all their less shit players get sold. He’ll claim he did a great job, kept them up but circumstances weren’t as promised and will resign.

The guardians of the corinthian spirit would never let that happen to themselves....

There's no real money or glamour with them. At least when Newcastle were bought they have a large stadium and fan base in a one club city. They were relatively cheap at £300m as Ahsley hadn't built up a massive debt because he'd spent next to nothing on them for years.

Moshiri will want some, if not all his money back, their stadium is a relic and they've dragged their feet for 6 years building a new one. They have no commercial growth as they've marketed themselves on being a bitter envious parochial club and are permanently in our shadow.

No one would buy Espanyol without a new stadium and a massive debt. Hopefully they get relegated and end up like Sunderland.

Espanyol maybe not the best example — they moved into a new ground about 10 years ago. Didn’t we play in its opening game and get battered?

I’m just being picky, I do agree with the point being made.

I genuinely believe they will go down in the next couple of years.

Can't see it (sadly) this season - just too much shite around them (hopefully wrong in saying that)....But it is coming, without doubt.

Everything about them points to it, on and off the park they are a mess and it is just a matter of time.

Yeah but I said they are like Espanyol without a new stadium.

They have a new one now but played at the Olympic stadium for a while with barely any fans. They used to play at an old ground called the Sarria stadium that was the venue for the Italy V Brazil game in 1982 and I think their current one is built on the exact same site. They couldn't afford to build a new stadium for years so ended up in the Athletics stadium.

Hasn't the Everton wage ratio gone up from 89 per cent to 95 now?.

That Alan Myers who is their media head says they got no compo for Ancelotti as he has an agreement to leave if a CL club came in. Tgey had to pay Rafa off, sacking him 18 months early. Also the accounts don't include the blag sponsorship from Megafon and USM. So next year they could be worse.

An apologist's piece in the torygraph about their plight.

More bollocks about how covid has driven them to exceptional losses but not a single sentence about the rest of the PL clubs not having as big losses in the same period.

No mention of the £19m covid business interuption taxpayer funded loan they took. Without that loan, you can effectively stick another £20m onto their already whopping £120m loss for the year.

How can the PL be so blind to this? If 5 or 6 smaller clubs than the shite had as big losses, you could point to it being a bit of a trend at a stretch. But it isnt. It's one club who have lost more than double Brighton's.

From their official site...no way they can get away with this bollocks IMO.

The dramatic and ongoing financial impact of the COVID-19 pandemic is evident in the annual accounts published today by Everton for the 2020/21 season.

Losses of at least £170m are attributed to the impact on the Club of the COVID-19 pandemic, with £103m of that figure coming in the 2020/21 financial year. Continued investment in the playing squad, coupled with the impact of the pandemic, has resulted in the Club posting a loss of £120.9m for the year ending 30 June 2021.

The wide-ranging impact of COVID-19 on Everton - which further market analysis has indicated could include an additional £50m - covers lost revenues, additional costs due to strict COVID-19 playing protocols and a significant contraction in the transfer market which resulted in the inability to generate the level of transfer fees which could reasonably have been expected pre-pandemic.

Gate receipts of just £0.2m were generated for the season, with virtually the entire campaign played without fans in attendance at Goodison Park. Indeed, the only matchday revenue came from three Premier League matches and one Carabao Cup quarter-final which were able to be staged with a small number of fans present at the ground.

The Club can, however, report a record turnover of £193.1m and remains in a secure financial position thanks to the continued unwavering support and commitment of Farhad Moshiri, the Majority Shareholder, and cost control measures continuously adopted by the Club.

A Share issue was completed during 2020/21 that involved the introduction of £100m of new funds from the Club’s owner, with a further injection of £97m confirmed after the year’s end.

The Club has also been working formally with the Premier League regarding its ongoing compliance with Profitability & Sustainability regulations.

The Club has experienced a unique set of financial circumstances in recent years, including committing significant amounts of expenditure to a complex New Stadium project and dealing with the continuing and widespread impact of the COVID-19 pandemic, all whilst being in the initial stages of an investment lifecycle thanks to the support of its Majority Shareholder.

The annual accounts can be viewed here. Shareholders wishing to receive a hard copy of the 2020/21 accounts should email paula.fenwick@evertonfc.com

Interesting they are trying this tactic...

'The wide-ranging impact of COVID-19 on Everton - which further market analysis has indicated could include an additional £50m - covers lost revenues, additional costs due to strict COVID-19 playing protocols and a significant contraction in the transfer market which resulted in the inability to generate the level of transfer fees which could reasonably have been expected pre-pandemic.'

They are obviously in the shit and worried and are scrambling badly to try and cover their arses...

Wonder what it will be like next year when they have to repay the loan, pay off Rafa and are missing £20m in blag sponsorship off Uncle Uzzy?

At the rate Moshiri is pumping cash in he will soon own 120% of the club

Relax - it is coming and has been for ages.

It is totally unsustainable what they have been doing - wage to turnover ratio, spend on wages and transfers, static revenues, Moshiri bailing them out with share issues/loans, the losses year after year - and so on and so on.

They are and have been for ages fucked.

Just a matter of time.

Indeed. For the last few years they've been like the bloke who fell off the top of a skyscraper and said to people leaning out of the windows on the way down "So far, so good. So far, so good. So far, so good..."

What film did I get that from? Was it Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid?

Hopefully they'll be in the Championship next season.

Even if they’re relegated I’m half expecting them to apply for special dispensation to allow an extra place in the PL for the following season so they can stay up, and wheel Bill out to bang on about how they’re the longest serving members of the division and how it wouldn’t be a top flight without them,,,

Looking forward to the calibre of player they get on low fees and low wages, given what they got for high fees and high wages

I reckon Pickford, Mina, Richarlison and Calvert-Lewin - at least - will be out of the door (and off the wage bill) this summer. They will then have to replace them (and the attacking midfielder we don't talk about) with players good enough to improve the team (because the current squad is finishing 17th), who actually see Everton as a good career move.

I'm sure they'll be fine.
