How can they attribute £100m of the loss to Covid? Weren’t they only generating £16m a season from the stadium?

How? Because they're fucking liars. Brighton just announced they'd lost £53m in the same period give a week or 2. That's half what the shite have lost. Stadium build is exempt from the PL financial limits so they're just using covid and the stadium as excuses.

It's shocking that the PL are being so lenient with them.

Fire sale in the summer I reckon.

Shame they haven’t got anybody good enough to play for us to pinch. That would really make heads fall off.

They've still got that Kean lad who seems to be generating some interest in Europe. Talk is of a £45m sale!

Seems arsenal will test their resolve with calvert lewin and richarlison will probably consider his options.

Me too but it seems like the PL would allow them to defer bankruptcy status and escape a 9 point penalty due to covid 'impact' while every other club battled to stay within the limits.

Every fucking club had to deal with Covid impact tho.  Some clubs went to the wall during the pandemic (My home town team Macclesfield Town for one) yet these cunts think they’re special and deserve to remain in the premier league?!? If I were a Burnley, Watford or Leeds fan I’d be kicking off big style.

ETA. I’m aware MTFC had major financial issues prior to 2020 but losing the income from a crowd was one of the final straws to be broken.

Relax - it is coming and has been for ages.

It is totally unsustainable what they have been doing - wage to turnover ratio, spend on wages and transfers, static revenues, Moshiri bailing them out with share issues/loans, the losses year after year - and so on and so on.

They are and have been for ages fucked.

Just a matter of time.

Even when the Powers That Be are being lenient, Everton are getting screwed. This is the equivalent of giving a bucket of liquid chocolate to a fat lad who’s teetering on the brink of Type 2 diabetes. It’s the equivalent of seeing a guy who has gambled money he doesn’t have at the casino and offering him double or quits when even winning will still leave him desperately in the hole. It only makes the problem worse.
They are pooched, utterly pooched. Maybe they’ll somehow stay up, sell all their best players for more than they’re worth, radically rebuild the side over the summer with a bunch of rough diamonds, and somehow create a side which sneaks into Europe. It is, just about, possible.

But it won’t happen. Even a fire sale would still see them running at a loss, while the team gets worse. The imaginary stadium won’t get built. The board will still be clueless. Lampard won’t become a good manager. Benitez will still be to blame.

And when Everton do go down, that will be that for the foreseeable. Nil Humpty, Nisi Dumpty.

Totally agree mate. The way I see it, what was the point of at least 16, 17 other PL clubs making the best of a bad situation when one club doesnt give a fuck, decided to ride rough shod over the whole thing then plead covid fucked them over with losses bigger than any other club and then by some margin?

Everyone including the PL knew the shite had breached the financial limits in their previous accounts even though they got an equally dodgey hand out from usmanov for a 'first option' on naming rights. Wasnt the PL supposed to be investigating that, what happened?

They've effectively breached the PL's limits 2 consecutive seasons. No other PL club has done that to my knowledge yet, the PL seems to be giving them a free run to carry on as if they were financially sound.

Ongoing compliance! they've already broken the 3 year rule they should face punishment for doing so otherwise it cheats every single side they have faced.

I'm working with the police about my ongoing compliance with not shooting people after 12 days straight shooting people.

It's a fucking farce.
