The day of the Liverpool-Brighton game I was babysitting my nephews because their mother was working and my brother-in-law would have done a McCanns on it rather than skip going to the ground, so I took them and my son to Sefton Park. It was 2-1 and I saw a woman show her phone to her fella with a shit-eating grin and I knew Brighton had equalised because it was pure Evertonian. Nothing wrong with it in itself, that's what you do when your other half supports the enemy, and perhaps I was being no better when she came to mind yesterday as Cap'n Rafa steered the good ship Bitter onto the rocks...nah, I am a better person and fuck them, she'll have been doing exactly the same when Chelsea equalised yesterday thus salvaging their whole year.

Probably, too much to hope for. Just as I look at the top of the table and say "there's one team in a much stronger position than us", I look at the bottom and see a few in a much weaker position than them.

At both ends of the table, what I want is highly unlikely, although not yet impossible.
