Hot off the success of being embedded into negative word definitions on the internet, here’s another “Everton” moment…

The day after he fucks off to play his football in the desert, Everton receive a silver award at the football business awards for their social media campaign for his signing 12 months earlier.

A silver award was also won by the club for Best New Player/Contract Signing/Reveal Campaign, for James Rodriguez, which saw the club accelerate its profile in South and North America and across the globe, following the arrival of the Colombia international from Spanish giants Real Madrid.

A focus on digital and social, supported by inspiring physical on-the-ground, news-making activations in South America, North America and Europe, amplified the announcement and galvanised Evertonians - old and new - to participate in meaningful and authentic engagement.

From lighting up Bogota’s tallest building in the Club’s royal blue colours and Rodriguez’s number 19 shirt number, to celebrating the playmaker’s capture on billboards in New York City and on Miami beach, the signing made waves across the world.

(they also Won awards for their community work which is worthy of praise, but doesn’t mean you can’t laugh at them for this…)

Let's face it - beggars can't be choosers. An award is an award. A trophy is a trophy. It's a first, and the Redshite have absolutely nothing like it.

You could also make a good case that their appointment of Rafa has “galvanised Evertonians - old and new - to participate in meaningful and authentic engagement.”

Just look at the “we know where you live” welcome he got.

Except it turned out they didn’t know where he lived, so probably not quite up there with the Galactgone campaign.

Details, details.

what matters is they were ‘galvanised’ and ‘engaged’. Get the brasso out. It’s coming home.

Bit unfair on the man with the lowest recognition among the top 200 goalscorers in Premier League history. The Sporcle answer set didn't account for everyone who typed in 'Cunt'.

That's a strong correlation between the numbers of goals scored and the number of people who identified the scorer; as it should be.

I refuse to accept that 85% of people remember Carlton Cole.

Does the quiz give you credit for just entering the surname? That would also account for Dean Sturridge and Alan Smith.

Yeah, Bob is a real-life Sideshow Bob - one who enjoys stepping on the rakes.

Is it me, or is Stevie missing from this list? It's almost certainly me.

He's there in spirit. There's no way that many people remember Demba Ba because of Demba Ba.
