It's an abomination

They've misconstrued this. They've never had any badge with a Liver bird on in their entire history. They only started to use a Crest in 1920.

The football league was founded in 1888-89 and they were champions in 1891. The football league only gave pennants out to the winners and Everton had a strop because there were no winners medals. So they commissioned their own with the city's symbol on (the liver bird). It was only a 12 team league at that point.

Liverpool were formed a year later yet they chose to name themselves after a small district rather than a city and didn't use any badge until 1920.

First team ever to steal a league title. They weren't incorporated until 1892. Stole our turnstiles too.

if we want to be really accurate about "if ye know ye history" .. while a football team called everton did indeed play at anfield, the legal entity that controlled everton football club then changed it's name to liverpool and started liverpool football club. so we kept the company and the stadium (for what it was). they kept the name and fucked off. the reality is really is we are the senior club, we just let them have the name because houlding wasn't a fucking idiot and saw the potential of being named after the city and not a district.

Ha ha.

They genuinely think they owned Anfield, built a 60,000 all seater stadium then one day just decided to leave and build another ground because they were bored.

Anfield was basically just an enclosed pitch with a few small standing areas with shelters around it like Marine's ground but with 4 sides, Everton were forced off Stanley Park because the locals complained about crowds gathering there. The ground wasn't even developed properly until 1905.

Another typical Everton thing is to buzz off those 14 years of existence before Liverpool when they played teams like Earlestown on an open field on Stanley Park. Before joining the football league they were basically just a social club. It took them 12 years their first league title when it was a 12 team league.

Liverpool were formed in September 1892,  joined the football league the year after, got promoted as champions of the second division and eventually won the first division title in 1900-1901, which by then was a larger league (18 teams). So less than 9 years existence and Liverpool win the league having to play more games. At the turn of the century we were level with them on titles despite them having a 14 year head start.

The only thing they had over us was 2 FA Cup wins before we won out first in 1965.

Evertonians like to peddle the myth that they were the all dominant force in the city before Shankly arrived in 1959. But we were on the same amount of titles by then as well.

All this shite about being 'the originals', building grounds and all the other meaningless shite they go on about is all a result of them being shite for so long and trying to find some sort of comfort to make themselves feel better.

The thing is none of it really works.

First time visitor on your forum.
Coming from the same region as Ancelotti in Italy.I’ve always been a massive Carlo Ancelotti fan,I’ve been closely following Everton both on television and on this forum. It looks like Carlo and Everton is the perfect match.
I’ve always been under the impression that Carlo has never been fully given the credit he truly deserves in England for the exceptional managerial career he’s had thus far. It seems like his achievements in the game have been vastly underrated because of the talent made available to him.I personally think it takes a exceptional talent to keep the squads that Carlo has had available happy. The man is a truly world class man manager.Carlo likes to build from scratch and improve the football once he has the confidence in his squad. Carlo has a plan A,B,C and D. They don’t always work but he’s never scared to try different things. Carlo is also a fantastic coach who improves players both technically and tactically.
Where Carlo really comes through is that he is a truly classy and humble gentlemen. Carlo doesn’t make excuses. He doesn’t get too carried away when he wins or when he loses. When reporters try to make a story out of something that’s happened.Carlo has a classy way of killing the story dead. Everything he does is done in private. That’s why he’s so respected by the world class players he’s managed in the past.Just look at the list of players that Carlo has managed in the past. It’s truly incredible.
when you compare him with another world class manger in Mourinho.Which one would you rather have representing your club?.
I‘ve always looked at Everton as a real football club with real passionate supporters. Please be patient. There is always going to be ups and downs in a long term project that your football club is going through at the moment.
Carlo and Ferguson is a great combination.
One thing is for sure. Carlo will leave you in better shape then he found you.

Perhaps it's a "Jailbird", to correlate with the Lock-up that is on their actual crest.

I know there's Google translate amongst others but the levels of knowledge of English grammar from Italians and Columbians is on another level.

I hang my head in shame at CSE grade 3.

They were always going to get ridiculously gidding once they finally won a Derby, I started getting loads of messages from friends and family blues after the weekend game, I simply told them well done and enjoy it, they soon stopped messaging.

Let them have their five minutes in the sun, as always though, they will linger too long in it and end up burnt and sat in the shade away from everyone else.

Too many cringeworthy suggestions to narrow down into a single post on here.

Wonder what their reactions will be when they find out how much they will have to pay to attend the first match.

Might be worth bookmarking that thread for 2025 (as it will obviously run over its estimated time) just to see the fume.

He says he's specifically followed Ancelotti, watching the likes of Juve, Milan, PSG, Real Madrid and Bayern, yet somehow he has also manged to keep an eye on Everton.

Even I'm raising one eyebrow at this.

That is exactly how to deal with it and then they don't know how to react/what to say.

    • It was the gimp, I think.
    • They’re really milking this deal.
    • I know there’s no time for two club cunts on here but Sporting just need 4 points to clinch the Premeira. Three years ago they were known as the worst run club in world football, when their president paid supporters to attack players at the training ground. Just goes to show anything is possible and you are never as far away as you think. All done on a shoestring budget, with a rookie manager and a bunch of punk kids. Big Seb Coates finally came good.
    • The irony is that almost every other club would kill to be in the position that City and Chelsea are in.
Everton would be top of that list, yet proudly spout about how they “called out” the breakaway six and spoke for every other club when they called for sanctions against them. The purpose of those sanctions were to allow themselves to be bumped into a position where they could “qualify” for a European place that they hadn’t actually earned as much as anything else and to claim differently is basically a lie.
West Ham, Brighton and Crystal Palace, with rent-a-quote chairman Steve Parrish, again pontificating about how these teams should be brought to book, yet wanting to null and void last season to protect themselves against possible relegation whilst saying it was morally wrong to play on given lives were being lost. They refuse to see that in applauding City and Chelsea for breaking away, and back into the Premier League, all that is guaranteeing is they strengthen those clubs with Oligarchs or Oil States as owners to continue dominating every competition they are in, effectively taking the competitiveness away from those very same competitions!
The ESL wasn’t handled very well in its timing or proposed implementation, but the general idea that it would possibly limit the massive money teams and allow others to challenge them was a sound one, but the blinkers were on from the time the announcement was made and the “little 14”, as opposed to the “big 6”, basically decided to hold onto what they had rather than what they might have had. It won’t go away though and they must know that, even if the current voting regulations in the Premier League give them the whip hand, and effectively a veto, for anything the top teams might want to bring in. A quick look at who has won the major prizes in European competition and domestic leagues over the past few seasons will show them why the current system needs changes to be made. They’re all hypocrites though, and will bury their collective heads in the sand while the really big boys dry bum them.
