Everton

Our planning applications for a new stadium at Bramley-Moore Dock and community-led legacy project at Goodison Park are set to be determined by Liverpool City Council next week.

They've gone one step further than that to boost morale.

Seathestars

Player Valuation: £70m
I can see them hurting an Everton player on Saturday, they’re still fuming over the death of Virg.
Let‘s hope whoever the ref is has the bollocks to show a red if needed.

They got away with assault on DCL, James and Pickford in the last Derby, all committed by big Virg who got his comuppance

I really want them to build the stadium I just want them to get the fuck on with it. Its a waste of the waterfront as it is now. If they think it will elevate their team I suggest they look at the sheer amount of sides with new stadiums even if it doesn't elevate them they need it anyway,  Goodison does not belong in the 21st century.

The new stadium will bankrupt them, look what happened at Arsenal and they had CL football every season at that time and all the revenue that brings in also Tottenham have hardly broke the bank with transfers since the started their ground. Here's hoping anyway

They're bankrupting themselves without a stadium. It'll be interesting just how much money the mosh has to put in.

You wonder how they can afford it or blag their way around any scrutiny of their finances without it being blatantly obvious that Usmanov is putting money in. It's more towards £600m as well.

Turnover of just 185m and over 80% of that being spent on wages....

Spurs have borrowed around £750m from two different lenders and have to pay around £37m a year until 2042.

They have more expensive tickets and an NFL team playing there help repay it.

Evertonians want a new stadium but want the ticket prices to stay the same.

They are heading for going bust  - they have lost about 100m over last few seasons which puts them right close to the limit allowed under PL financial regs.

It really would be best for everyone if Everton just went bust as soon as possible. Then their fans can get on with properly supporting Man U and Man City.

Paying for their ground wouldn't be such a big deal if they could sell as much hospitality as we do. Except northern teams (man united included) don't do great with hospitality from corporates and us and the mancs only do well because of our enormous support and OOTs being willing to take a hospitality package to go once per season. After spending the last 30 years bigging up their parochial imagine, it seems hard to think they could sell anything like the required number of hospitality tickets.

The planning permission was never getting rejected.  The benefits of them building it far outweigh any negatives for the council and the city itself.  The whole thing still just doesn’t make sense though.  It’s just never going to make enough money to pay for itself never mind actually make enough to increase their ability to be competitive.  As has been mentioned above they’re an absolute basket case financially and aren’t in London.  You see them mention on GOT about the corporate revenue as if this is just going to get magicked up from somewhere.  No company is paying for expensive tickets/season tickets to watch Everton.  They’re completely irrelevant to anyone outside of their own fans.  They were selling half season tickets only a few years ago and that’s on the prices they charge now.  After a few years of being there if it gets built the attendances will drop as the prices have gone up.

You only have to look at Chelsea and City as examples.  They are the absolute best case scenarios for them in that if they do have backing of Usmanov then they can try to buy success.  Even with the unprecedented success those two have had their actual revenue generation still hasn’t grown to compete with our own and neither have their fanbases.  City can’t fill their own ground or and neither sellout allocations for finals.  They’re obviously falsifying the revenue they do report.  If Usmanov was doing an Abramovich as a vanity project you would have to wonder why he is being so covert doing it.

It will only really become clear what the whole point is when the finance backing it is revealed.  If it is not just fun and games for a billionaire then you would imagine they would go the same way as Arsenal and Spurs only worse.

Moshiri already plunged 600m of his own cash into Everton (150m to buy his 77% share and 450m in director loans which apparently he willing to write 100m of that debt off to take his ownership up to over 90%) and is willing to put another 100m towards the new stadium. 700m invested + they’re gonna take on 300m in debt to fund it. Crazy
