The view from GOT

Don't be fooled by the Historic England Cover. It will be bitter RS fans behind this, have no doubt. They get everywhere. Any and every possible avenue to try and get it blocked.

They're so wonderfully predictable.

Financing aside, surely having a nice modern stadium down there is better than the dump it is right now? It's not like tourists are flocking to Bramley Moore to visit the historic dock like they're the pyramids.

James Rodriguez is reportedly seeking assurances that Everton is a real place before joining up with manager Carlo Ancelotti for a third time. The Columbian is expected to complete a medical in Spain today.

“I’m excited,” Rodriguez told Soccer on Sunday. “But obviously I want to confirm that Everton is a real place before signing a contract. When I google ‘Everton’, it says the club is in Liverpool. That makes no sense — how can one club be inside another? Sounds fucked up and a bit sexual, if I’m honest.”

“I had never heard of Everton until Carlos WhatsApp’d,” said the midfielder. “My first reaction was, ‘He’s been at the crack pipe again and is making up words’. But it turns out that Everton is a real club. I was amazed.”

“I have no idea how to get there though,” added Rodriguez. “Possibly nobody does.”

Yeah. I want them to build it if they pay for it themselves. I dont get the historic site shite its a dump and smells of poo. Better a nice stadium thats filled with shite so there's something to associate the smell with.

Im not sure. It stinks of heavy crude oil and the shit farm on the best of days. It is bizarre to me why anyone would build a footie stadium there, it's not like it is close to anything of interest. Like Ive said, Ive seen burnt out range rovers down there, it isnt the best of areas.

I could have understood them moving Kings Dock which was more central and nearer other attractions. If the Games bid hadnt centred on BMD, would they really have selected that as the best site? Im not sure and Im guessing there's a bit of face saving going on with them wanting to still use the site.

The government are going to repurpose it as a lorry park for the port. Get that spreading on Twitter in light of the new powers Jenrick gave himself yesterday.

They seriously believe this shit is representative of his status as a sort of transcendent global icon. Bigger than Ferrari and Man Utd, too.

Missing the most (ir)relevant Insta followers victory there. 45 million more than Everton f.c.

If this was us building it down there then historic England would be the most prestigious organisation on earth and those docks would be sacrosanct

Has he got more instagram followers than lebron james who peddles the LFC line. We get so many super-duper points for that.

Just checked, I don't go on Instagram so was interested- Lebron has nearly 60 million, Rodriguez has 46 million. Fake Ronaldo has the most out of footballers at over 230 million- https://sportsshow.net/most-followed-footballers-on-instagram/#:~:text=At number 5 in this, him almost 46 million followers.

Thing is, the big numbers on Instagram are pretty much for individuals with glamorous lifestyles. I doubt the millions of teenage girls who follow him are going to be buying up Rodriguez shirts and Everton merchandise. Plus there's just a bit of a difference between Real Madrid and a middle-ranking English club that hasn't won anything in most of his Instagram followers' lifetimes.

You don't have to have the most Instagram followers to have the most Instagram followers. But he has the most Instagram followers.

Evertonian's are that desperate they will cling onto any positive and that includes things off the pitch.

"I see we've signed that Nicky Clarke."

"He's an hairdresser mate."

"He could do a better short, back and sides than any of your redshite players."

There’s an article below that states 22 of our 35 players are asthmatic, 5 times higher than the UK's 12% average. Having all these asthmatics enables our players to legally take PEDs. Obviously, in GOT world, this is irrefutable evidence that we were drugged up and the reason Buvac left because he didn’t agree with Klopp on it.

At last the truth is starting to leak out.
They won't be the only club doing it but they have certainly taken to the max.
The media should be absolutely all over this - but as we know there will not
be a squeak. At least we know now. They have drugged their way to the two trophies
they have recently won. Cheats of the highest order.

Its gaining momentum big time. It is hard to suppress the massive wishful thinking here but if this starts to get going they could be tarnished

it’s getting swept under the carpet by the ‘Powers that be’..........

Apart from one article and one Twitter feed, I haven't seen much else. Like the story about them hacking City's computers, it'll all be swept under the carpet and forgotten about in a few weeks.

If a surprising amount are "hypothroid" too, then thyroxine will give you a cover for metabolism enhancing recovery drugs. Note it mentions that the "brains" of the lfc operation had a fall out with herr klopp, before they started this lung busting run in the league a few years back?

Mad the way they think there's a few imaginary faceless people sitting round all day making decisions to constantly fuck them over whilst handing us every advantage possible.

The stuff about a few imaginary Kopites influencing English Heritage to fuck up the stadium was laughable.

Some cunt should have told Sako that he didnt need that fat burning supplement which contributed to him being shipped out of the club. All he had to do was drink gallons of caffiene!

I imagine their reaction to Liverpool wanting to build a new stadium on a world heritage site and asking the council for a loan would be a bit different.

The Rodriguez signing should theoretically strengthen them.

This season they may even push our kids to penalties in one of the cup games before inevitably bottling it.

There’s no doubt at all that signings like Allan and Rodriguez make them better, but they’re so far away from the talent of the clubs above them, it doesn’t make them better enough to be relevant.

are they now better than Sheffield United? Yeah. Wolves? Maybe, soldiering they’ve lost a player or two. Anyone else near the top? No. And not even close.

    • These aren't Maribor. I don't think we can play mostly backups against them and expect an easy game. They're a giant side with lots of pace, they could easily give us trouble. Especially with no fans at Anfield which cuts out some of the intimidation and pressure factor.
    • Antonio did a hammy v Citeh. Hopefully he's missing as he's usually peak Drogba against us.
    • With the Sadio offside thing, he'd made a burst into the middle just before and the ball never came to him. Normally when we've recycled possession from those situations, we look to switch the play across the pitch and stretch the opposition. That allows our forwards the opportunity to both get back onside and look for space. Thiago sees things very early, so Sadio received a through-ball he wouldn't otherwise expect to get. It's that adjustment our players will learn to make.   As for Sheffield United, Wilder uses his back three differently to other managers who play with that system. In Wilder's system, they don't look for the wing backs immediately. Instead, one of the two wide defenders in the 3 will carry the ball into midfield, lay it off to a midfielder and get it back before finding the wing back. While this is happening, the midfielder on that side will drop back to cover the space left so the defender can carry on into midfield. The problem for an opposition player when dealing with it is that they can't track both players who've switched positions. Combine thas aspect with Sheffield United's directness and, if they are on their game, it can make it look like the opposition midfielders are being overrun and/or not tracking runners.   They've had a tough start to the season but I actually admire Chris Wilder for trying something tactically different when it would be easy to go all Sam Allardyce and play shit-on-a-stick POMOball with a heavy emphasis on set-pieces.
    • But this is my point. The chances of it being level when you make decisions to millimetres are almost zero. There should be virtually no offsides seen as level, because they won't be level. But we don't have the technology to deem if it's within millimeters. We don't even have the technology to show the moment the ball left the foot. They have software that even from the inaccurate frame chosen then has quite a margin of error depending on the angle of the camera. So they absolutely do not have the technology to do offside as implemented today. If you're saying they can freeze a frame and then let a computer make a best guess, fair enough they can, but then what's the point of that? The software makers themselves say it can't possibly be accurate like the cricket and the goal line as they don't have control of the camera location and prior knowledge to where the decision will be made. It's complete fucking nonsense. If they were to calculate a maximum margin of error and then go with the position plus the margin, then fair enough i could accept that and if it's a millimetre offside even accounting for the VAR and his potential poor positioning of the mark, then with a built in margin of whatever, it doesn't seem unjust.   Bottom line to me is level is effectively gone if the measurement is a frozen frame and we're happy to go to millimeters - level is a concept from a linesman needing to simultaneously in real time with the naked eye watch the ball being struck and if the forward has broken the line. But we don't have the technology to measure to the level of accuracy required for what they're delivering today - but I can see there could be a halfway house between watching a real time situation where a person is expected to look at 2 places at once and the utter shite we have today.
