The Echo did a piece on CT a few months back. Everton were aggrieved that this prevented them having a period of domination.

Despite the fact that they finished 9th in the league that year and didnt come out of their self induced trophy come for another 7 years.

They really were going to dominate in an era that we errrrr, dominated.

Went to both games, fuckin pissed down at the first game but the sun was shining at the replay even though it was dark.

I can't believe that they go on about it so much. It was an FA cup semi final.

Look at all the dodgy decisions that have gone against Liverpool in big or decisive games. Yet our fans dont harp on about them and go off on one every time the referee's name is mentioned.

Exactly mate. Can think of league cup final against Forest and Wimbledon in the FA cup final, couldn't name the refs or even the players involved.

December 2013 at the Etihad, Sterling had a perfectly good goal disallowed for the most ridiculous "offside" call ever. If nothing else that season changed - if we still had Gerrard's slip and the Palace 3-3 - we would have been champions, if that lino and ref had just done their jobs with a basic degree of competence.

And their names are..?

(No. Me neither. )

My God they are muck, serious money needed to make them even remotely competitive

Serious money they are certain they’re getting. They’re all over the moon that FFP is shite. All this COVID and FFP has apparently put Everton ahead of most other clubs to take advantage. The powershift is about to change

The daft fuckers are more or less guaranteed to stay on a minus goal average, currently - 11 with only 2 games left. If Burnley get a point against Norwich they are also guaranteed to finish in the bottom half of the table. At least they have that shiny new stadium to dream about and the elation that Man City got away with cheating.

And the honour of being the shittest team in the north west.

No wonder Carlo has gone there. £14m a season and he got a £2.5m bonus for them staying up. Only Guardiola and Mourinho are on more in the Premier League. Whatever tax bill he had from Spain that will sort him out.

Plus he gets to rehabilitate his knee cycling up and down from Crosby to Hightown.

Easiest Job he's ever had, he can lose but as long as City or the Mancs win that weekend the natives are happy.

Were it not for City fucking up against Chelsea, the famous point they took from the derby would have easily replaced the 1995 FA Cup win as their greatest achievement since 1987.
