*Shakes head* Everton again.

They’ve had two big wins this week.

1) City beating a very poor Arsenal (meaning we couldn’t win the league there).

2) Them not losing to us yesterday.

Some of them would’ve been hoping we could’ve won the league there, but then didn’t beat them, which in blue logic terms would’ve meant they had stopped us winning the league at Goodison two years running.

Never mind though.

Massive week.

Power shift back on.

Funny how it's only Evertonians who this restart has affected.

It's terrible the way these sort of things so uniquely affect them and no one else.

They haven't won the 2nd derby of the season since 1988. In that time they have only finished about us 3 times, we won the European cup in one of those years so in reality they have had a maximum of 3 summers (including 1995) to gloat in 32 years. That explains a lot of the bitterness and delusional.

Edit: they beat us 0-0 and we lost the league at their place so make it 4 summers. Although we did win the European cup again?????

Typical reply here - only down mark for it is the superfluous use of 'to' where he mentions going the game....otherwise it is classic them.

Doesn't really count though- every team in Europe is going through a transition period, so it was basically the equivalent of winning the Carabao cup.

They are ok with tax Dodgers though. Phillip Green on the board and Moshiri living in Monaco.

But if Liverpool furlough their staff there's the usual faux outrage.

The state of this thread. Are these the same Everton fans who don’t go to European games? The same Everton fans who in the past have walked out of the stadium at half time because they’re being heavily beaten, leaving Goodison half empty. They really have this myth going...

2 things jump out at me from this. Firstly, what part of county road is Cincinnati? Secondly, are evertonians under the illusion they're the only club who's fans aren't allowed back in?

Everton are the only Premier League team who are unbeaten at home in all competitions in 2020. Carlo magnifico, Carlo fantastico.

One competition as they aren't in Europe, we knocked them out of the FA cup at Anfield and they were knocked out of the league cup in December by Leicester.

They love clutching at straws.

"In all competitions".

How many League Cup, FA Cup or European games have they played at Goodison in 2020?

So... they're unbeaten "in all competitions" by virtue of being unbeaten in the League (just like some other clubs we could mention) and not playing any other competitions.

But if they didn't use the all competition tag and just used the league, there'd be loads unbeaten in 2020 I'm sure.

I could think of one team that hasn't dropped a home point in the league in 2020, having only dropped 2 home points in 2019.

They've had some awful adversity to deal with: two World Wars; Heysel; Clive Thomas; the mass extinction event in the Cretacious Period that wiped out Jordan Pickford's ancestors...

The authorities in Spain will continue to ignore the fact that these tax scams are rife at Real Madrid and Barcelona in particular*, by going after the individuals suspected rather than the two clubs themselves. The authorities are scared about how much revenue they'll lose if they genuinely clamp down on the big two. All these players and coaches who keep getting cited for tax evasion do not all share the same agents or financial advisors. What they have in common is that they are (or have been) employed by these clubs.

* Diego Costa at Atletico is another who has been in the news for this, and I think Simeone was too, hence why it's not exclusively the big two.

Was talking to a mate about this before and he said the exact same thing. Didn’t Xabi mention the tax rate here as being one if the issues with going back to Spain. No wonder all the top players couldn’t wait to get out there
