Watched a Liverpool documentary the other night. The bit about the 1965 team being cheated out of the final by Inter Milan in particular. It was proven that the referee had been bribed after an investigation by the journalist Brian Glanville. This was after the first leg finished 3-1 to Liverpool. Inter won the second leg 3-0 after scoring straight from an indirect free kick and one of their players kicking the ball out of Tommy Lawrence's hands. Inter went on to win the final 2-0 against Benfica in their own stadium.

I then thought that what a great honour it would have been to be the first English and also British club to have won the European cup but sadly it wasn't to be. The club didn't come up with a million and one excuses for being shite and called the Spanish referee an Evertonian.

Yet Everton whinge about Collina disallowing a goal that wouldn't have made a difference to the tie to actually qualify for the Champions League.

Levels.

2 of the Liverpool goals that night were pace goals so they don't count.

So why haven’t the Blue Noses asked Brian Glanville to investigate and prove the alleged bribery by LFC? It’s supposedly much worse and more obvious. Surely you would want to expose us if you were as peeved as they seem to be?

Because it was Inter that bribed the referee for the second game unfortunately.

But surely with Evertonians being the moral guardians of the game who hate match fixing, bribing refs, diving, unsportsmanlike behaviour, spending loads of money and against any form of cheating in football, shouldn't they have helped Liverpool and launched an investigation into this travesty?.

They bribed the ref.

Wow, we've had an upgrade! Didn't one of them say it was the European equivalent of the League Cup?

Funny how it's so utterly meaningless, that their other favourite club, Man City are so desperate to win it, as well as every other team in Europe. It's only Everton fans who are so norarsed about it.

I'd not be too arsed about cups Liverpool haven't got a chance of competing for either.

How are Chelsea Evertons 3rd rival?. They don't even register with them on any level. As for the manc clubs how can they be classed as rivals when Evertonians invite them in for buffets at their pubs and not try against them in order to prevent their greatest rivals winning the league?

After naming their local derby rivals they just stepped further into Fantasyland, where they actually compete with anyone at all.

They make nobody else’s list. A complete irrelevance outside the city of Liverpool.

Yep. They store up all their hate and anger for us because they literally have no one else to have a rivalry with.

They don't seem to hate anyone, I know a few of them hate Leeds because the actual fellas got battered at an away game in the early 80s. They had that tear up with Millwall in January that had some history from the 70s when they attacked Millwall fans but as for actual sporting rivalry they have none with any other club bar us. No one else cares about them enough to even mildly dislike them. They are the mancs bitches because they think it will wind us up.
