The Evertonians i work with know literally nothing about footy outside their own team, us and the Mancs. None have really bothered watching the world cup either.

 

None have any real interest in European footy in general. I had a conversation once with one about Argentinean footy and all he knew was that Maradona played for Boca Juniors and the Everton in Vina Del Mar are called the Ruleteros (Roulette players) even though they are Chilean.

You're more likely to see Bigfoot, Contact Aliens and win the Lottery on the same day as your are likely to ever see that stadium built. It banked solely on the Commonwealth Games and everything now is just the end game to disappointment. None of the main protagonists will lose money as they never used any in the first place, backhanders will stay in shady off shore accounts and no face will be lost as they're all two-faced shysters as it is. About time people on waking up.
