The shirt sponsor thing makes me laugh. Some poor cunt has to do the rounds trying to find companies willing to pay good money for their brand to be associated with *waves hand* all of this.

Their commercial director must say "we can offer you exclusive access to the untapped market of a small area of Liverpool as well as Rhyl and Llandudno"

James Corbett was on the second captains podcast today, his delight turned to pure depression when finances where mentioned. He gave the example of the French league being destroyed by Covid and Everton couldn't sell their players to them, hence the 170m loss as compared to 40m for Newcastle.  They will need to at least match Leeds result on Sunday, 3 point deduction should be the minimum here.

Nothing will come of it. It never does the Premier league wants to give the illusion its squeaky clean! oblivious to the fact everyone can see it isn't. I just don't get that the Premier league is run and owned by the clubs in it so how can the likes of Liverpool and other clubs playing by the books just smile and take it up the arse. City are bad enough they hide it and get it all caught up in legal actions because they can afford too, Everton though have clearly breached the rules by a huge amount, not just testing the edges but massively going over with the arrogance that nothing will come of it and they are right.

The league allowed a brutal regime to buy a club, one that kills and dismembers people whose opinion they don't like! so Everton overspending in the grand scheme of things is fuck all.

So they use their hypothetical Heysel/European cup win theory to accountancy now?.

If every club used that we could have said we would have got £150m for Salah or Mane before Barcelona and Real Madrid turned into Ray Liotta at the end of Goodfellas.

Totally agree. 'Fit and Proper' is the most misleading title ever.

Only difference there is that Everton can't afford to lawyer up if they do get sanctioned

Looks like the perfect kind of ship steadying that could do wonders at Old Trafford if their new manager doesn't work out.

I was thinking, if we win the league on Sunday and want to 100% guarantee it next season...

The Athletic are reporting that both Burnley and Leeds have written to the PL to ask questions about the validity of Everton’s accounts over the last three years.

Probably won’t go anywhere but questions are being asked.

Probably should have read the previous two pages before posting. As you were.

Everton's lawyers will just point to the players they bought for that money and say "Advantage? Really?"

Is this not more of a West Ham & Sheffield United scenario, rather than Everton getting docked points and being relegated?

I’d love to know what “deal” they’ve made. If there isn’t some sort of fire sale of Calvert-Lewin, Gordon, Richarlson, Pickford etc in the summer, I’ll be surprised.

The corrupt PL have covered up for them to avoid a big row. The PL probably thought they'd finish mid-table and nobody would be arsed.  But the other relegation threatened sides should have taken up the cudgels months ago because now it looks like sour grapes.
