*Shakes head* Everton again.

EFL are a lot more willing to issue points deductions than the PL so they'd need to cut their costs pretty drastically.

Maximum loss limits

Championship clubs will be allowed to lose an average of £13m a season (or £5m if the owner doesn’t inject cash into the club to cover the loss). Hence, a long-standing Championship such as Brighton, is able to lose up to £39m over the three-season assessment period.

Clubs are permitted to exclude some expenditure (Youth development spend, Charitable Community spend, and Women’s Football spend). For a Championship cub this rarely exceeds £500k per season (and is usually less).

Clubs relegated from the Premier League are allowed to make losses of up to £35m in respect of any season spent in the top flight – this should allow clubs to better manage the transition.

The following table illustrates how the maximum permitted loss for Championship clubs is dependent on the league they were in during the two previous seasons.

*Maximum loss is assessed in March/April 2017 based on submission relating to two previous seasons plus projection for 2016/17

Table shows 2016/2017 but the latest EFL handbook says

EFL Handbook

Quote

2 Profitability and Sustainability

2.1 Rules 2.2 to 2.9 shall apply with effect from Season 2016/17.

So don't think it's changed significantly.

So they've got to get down from £121m to £35m in a year but with a reduced TV deal, no Russian Sponsorship or shirt deal money and a stadium to pay for?. You fear for them.

The EFL TV deal is less than half of what they earn now including the parachute payments. They will only receive 100k a game if they are on live.

They will also miss out on a £25m increase in PL TV money due to overseas rights in the next couple of seasons.

Here's a decent guide

They made that announcement a few weeks ago that they'd signed a deal with Laing O'Rourke to the effect that the costs of the sandpit wouldn't increase. I've just got an agreement from the estate agent that the price of this place in Belgravia won't go up... I've just got one slight problem.

Shite forums are a cry for help today.

Corrupt. Snide 6. VAR. Refs against them. Finished with football. TV decides who wins. PEDS. Money.

Fuckin embarrassing,

Good grief. All this thrashing about and mental contortions to disguise their own inadequacies. They've consistently been absolutely shocking this season and completely deserve to be where they are. Yesterday wasn't 'brave' or 'disciplined' and they didn't 'underservedly' (sic) lose due to refereeing decisions or bad luck. They came to spoil, frustrate and be snide, even more so than usual, and still got beat after creating pretty much fuck all and barely having the ball in their possession for 10-15 minutes over the entire game. Despite some ill-judged articles and comments from pundits, it was a shameful performance that would have embarrassed a non-league team. For a supposed 'big club', their carry on was just ridiculous. Atletico and various Mourinho teams were and are cunts, but they're not cowards and can play when they put their mind to it, not just have a couple of breakaway runs down the wing.

Yesterday was arguably the most anti Liverpool commentary I've ever heard. After the game apart from Robbo and Divs interview they spent about 30 minutes on Everton before talking about us. But in the world of a bitter lying twisted blue...

I didn't watch the commentary on sky bit carragher seems to be getting it from both sides.

The fact that they are actually putting a complaint in about what was at best a 50/50 decision, rather than focusing on the rather more pressing issue of staying in the division, tells you all you need to know about Everton

Shame we didn't have them on the last day.

They're so small time. A proper tinpot club. The Championship is too good for them.

PMGOL should write back to Everton, outlining “the spirit” of the game, which doesn’t include constant diving, constant time wasting and constant harassing of the officials.

That's the thing, spend all game trying to con the referee and then cry your arse out when he doesn't believe you. They need to read about the boy who cried wolf.

"I've gone one v one with him and I've got the better of him and he's stood on me foot." Anthony Gordon explains why he feels he should've had a penalty and that he didn't deserve a yellow card for his "dive"

Any push there by Joel can easily be justified by "Get off my foot".

Not really surprising that the media don't show this, opting for the one of him in full dive.

In the other "pelanty", he could have easily avoided Trent and had a clear run at goal. Most of our forwards would see it as a golden opportunity than that amateurish acting performance.

…obviously Richarlson’s tackle on Hendo & Dacoure booting Fabinho were Ok though.

I'm presuming they were screaming corruption when pickford cut van dijk in half and stayed on the pitch?

Can't disagree with any of that.
