Yeah.....some serious money being paid out.

Their wage to turnover ratio was up at something mad like 85% - totally unsustainable and they have been making massive losses year after year with no signs of their revenues growing.

They are in trouble.

Fuck them...i always used to say 'no don't want them down its bad for the city, and bad for the older decent blues'...but now - fuck them, hope they drop, hope they fall through leagues and frankly i wouldn't be arsed if they go bust - and way they are going both are a realistic possibility.

If they get relegated either this season or next how can they pay for this stadium thats going to cost around £650m?.

They'll have to pay anything between £40m-£60m a season on top of their financial situation now given they have a shit credit facility.

I think Rafa was there to clear the wage bill down. I wonder what some of these players were getting if it's been worth hiring him for 6 months and then pay him off?

This.
They gave him buttons to spend - £2million over the summer. He was also tasked with shipping out the biggest earner in the club’s history, getting rid of the underperforming director of football, and acting as a lightning rod for all the discontent that’s been building for years.
Maybe financially the appointment does stack up?

All of Everton's problems are down to Everton...They get in their own way and repeat the same mistakes over and over again - 30 years ago they were a club capable of competing at the top level, but a series of dreadful decisions over the years have brought them to where they now are.

They moan about other clubs spending while being owned by a billionaire who has pumped in huge sums. They complain about the success around them being "bought" when they have spent huge amounts themselves... they are the alcoholic who slates other alcoholics but who can't see their own behaviour.

If Everton wants to be a top club again they need to get a plan and stick to it instead of the desperate flailing that they have been doing for so long.

1. Pick a manager for the future and let him put in place a 5 year football plan.

2. Define themselves on own terms. Everton fans and the club make everything about us really and it doesn't help them it is just petty and parochial...and also accept their place, knock the delusions of grandeur and the ridiculous expectation levels on the head.

3. Get a ten year plan in place at club. Everton are not going to be able to turn around this fiasco overnight. Play moneyball for a while.... stop trying to compete with the big boys by spending massive sums on transfer fees and wages on the players the big boys do not want or have discarded...

Become a club for clever, underrated hungry young players, instead of being a home for overpaid overrated and broken/washed up stars who would prefer to be elsewhere.

As it stands Everton is in a steep decline that will only accelerate further once they move into a shiny new stadium with a shiny new mortgage. They need to change course immediately.

A dose of common sense and reality is needed to make that change.

I remember arguing with a couple of bad bitter Everton fans in work who always used to have a go at Liverpool for spending tons of cash and winning virtually nothing. They always used to say "imagine us with those resources"

Well they've had more than us the last five years and made themselves worse. Anyway I took great delight in posting that on his Facebook page when he moaned about Everton wasting £500m.

Another lad always said to them they'd never win the Premier league or Champions league in their lifetime unless they got really rich owners. Well they got rich owners and they are still shit.

Has the plane banner fad worn out? It's only now seeing mention of one before Bobby Brown Shoes' departure that I realise there wasn't one for Rafa, and that seems very odd. How can any fans of a small club say they didn't do their absolute best to get an unwanted manager out if they don't have a plane banner?

There was one over Anfield today, but I think it was a different type of conspiracy loon - some shit about the New World Order.

It's needs to be someone who fully understands their mentalist fans desire to be treated as the biggest and smallest club in the world at the same time.

Schrödinger's club. In this hypothesis, however, it's a load of twats, a poisonous atmosphere, and a source of continual anger, that have been placed in a sealed wooden pit.

You've obviously given this a lot of thought.

But what would the Everton board do?

What a bunch of cunts those that run everton fc are. A 'terse' 40 word statement on the sacking of Benitez, no thanks, no good wishes for the future, just an almost hidden 'fuck off!' and clearly, didnt offer the option for him to say goodbye on their official web site.

It all smacks of arse covering by Moshiri and Kenwright, mea not culpa, honest. And now you see them trying to get back a manager they sacked for rubbish results but because he's got Belgium noticed, is back in favour.

Fuck off and get relegated.
