Just had a lad tell me that there's live bombs on the Everton stadium site. They're being told to ignore any bombs during searches and want to build the ground with potential live bombs from world war 2.

Standard practice is to evacuate the site and bring in military units to detonate the bombs off site. The contracting firm who are building the ground are telling workers to ignore any bombs found.

I'm calling bullshit on that. Anybody building anything around Liverpool Docks is prepared and insured for finding any WWII ordnance and all site workers and visitors will get specialist safety instructions; no developers or contractors would risk breaking those laws.

Yeah no chance they are leaving unexploded bombs there on the seabed. It’s always a lockdown of the shipping lanes and carried out to sea for a controlled explosion. If there is any truth in that (I’m not saying your mates lying Sire) then heads will roll when it comes out. Plus they would have had to have a military diving team down there before any work started surely.

That's pretty much exactly how he described the process.

I've told him to speak out as it's on his conscience at the end of the day.

It sounded like the building contractor being scumbags which is out of evertons hands.

I do wonder if they'd want to avoid this getting out.

Well it being spoken about on here... it's not staying quiet if there is anything true in it. That said, military divers would have been down or at the very least divers nothing to do with the contractors to sweep it. No chance there is anything down there other than bodies and as Bobby said a few weeks ago, turds. Which is very ironic considering the side playing above the turds are in-fact, turd themselves.

It's weird. Nobody outside of Everton fans will give a fuck, a stadium doesn't attract new fans or players it doesn't improve status so why build the most awkward one you can. It's going to be cold and windy as fuck most of the time with a whiff of shit now and then and as the crow flies It's further from town than Goodison. They definitely need a new stadium just the idea of let's build it on water because everything we do turns out well.

There was a story about bombs being found along the dock earlier this year. But doubt they'd be told to work on regardless.

The one they found in Exeter earlier this year still had plenty of life, Exeter WWII bomb: New footage of explosion | UK News | Sky News.

"Controlled explosion"

They are still removing ordnance in France and Belgium from WW1 which are still very active and very capable of going off.

Really? I can't think of any part of town that would be closer to woodison the BMD.

I remember reading it on here I think it was a crow flies point from goodison to lime Street. Either way its Everton it could be on the moon and they'd claim ownership of the city.

Nah just checked, it's about half a mile closer to lime st. The unicorn arena that is.

Yeah, I'd have thought that. BMD is still a fucking hike though. This idea it's town, is fucking nonsense. It's only 0.2 miles closee to lime Street than the kop though, so it's not unreasonable to think it'll be further for some bloos once the ground is open to get from the match than it will be people on the main stand/kop corner.

He basically said that they've found anti aircraft or artillery shells a while back and also unexploded bombs. They were since told to carry on searching but if anything else is found to just ignore it and that the next step is to fill the site with concrete and start building.
