I don't.

In the cup finals of 86 and 89 when red and blue stood side by side at Wembley chanting "Merseyside, Merseyside, Merseyside" showing togetherness and defiance towards national opinion of us then yeah, without doubt, but now, with all their nastiness, bitterness and bile, fuck them.

Couldn’t agree with you more mate, no one wants to see them suffer more than me. The ‘I fear for them, I really do’ was an acknowledgment to Stevie, an Everton poster on GOT.

Their fans are lapping that up as Carlo getting tough. Truth is, they HAVE to let a few players go, they can’t sustain that 85% wage to turnover, especially when the new accounts are released after a record loss the 12 months before COVID. They are in the shit. I worry for them I really do.

Wasn't this exactly how they ended last season, they even rolled out Coleman in an end of match interview to question the professionalism of his team mates?

Surely Metro isn't suggesting entry to the champions League should be based on anything but sporting merit?

About the whole "ifithadnabinfer" narrative  - they had a very good side that was very successful from 1984-1987, but couldn't sustain it much beyond that.  Isn’t that normal?

We'll probably get one more really good season out of our Virg/Hendo/Mané/Bobby/Mo group and we'll have a bit of a dip, at least.  And it won't be anyone else's fault. It will just be the normal sort of thing that happens.

Of course, I wouldn't expect us to remain shit for decades the way they have.

Nah if we don't win the Uefa World Super Galactic Galaxy Champions League Sponsored by Tesla Cup in 2032 I'll be blaming that little scruff Pickford mark my words.

"Big points reductions for all six clubs must now take place immediately" What you mean now Liverpool have won four on the spin? Watch him change his tune if we mess up on Sunday.

Oh for sure it will be a points deduction for next season not this season.

I think that most of them don't know what they are as a club, and don't know what they want to be as a club. The Peoples club gave them something, but it was short term and restricted them - now they are trying to be a working class salt of the earth club owned by a billionaire who will spend millions on the team. They are a club rooted in their community with cheap tickets for their working class fans, but want to move to a modern multi-million pound stadium that is the envy of football but keep their tickets cheap and still spend millions on players.

If they came to Dragons Den with that as a business proposition - they'd be laughed out of the room in 5 mins! They are like Brexit - an abstract idea that allows all sorts of yoghurts to project their own personal ideals onto what the club means. But like Brexit they are a confusing pile of hateful nostalgic wank disguised as progression that has no particularly endgame other than hatred of the French/Liverpool.

Speaking of prisons, in the time that's passed since Everton last won a trophy, Andy Dufresne would have gone from gouging a hole in his cell wall to spending 7 years chilling on a Mexican beach repairing boats. If Everton were Andy Dufresne, they would never have had a mate called Red so never would have got a rock hammer. Nil Satis Busy Living.
