*Shakes head* Everton again.

Sami Khedira not the man for West Ham

The Hammers signing him would have gone against everything that David Moyes stands for.

The Scot has repeatedly insisted over the past 12 months that he wants to bring young, hungry and exciting players with huge potential to the London Stadium.

Sami Khedira clearly doesn’t fit into that category. Missing out on the former Germany international to Everton shouldn’t be seen as a bad thing.

He may very well succeed with the Toffees. But that doesn’t mean he would have been the right fit for David Moyes’s philosophy and future vision.

This will be a failed transfer that we can all be happy about for once.

It says a lot about their players when bringing in a 33yo central midfielder is getting them excited. Granted, Khedira was a quality player at the peak of his career, in slower paced leagues, so it'll be interesting to see how that translates to the more physically demanding Premier League.

They're excited about him, but neatly sidestepping the issue that bringing in a declining 33yo is much better than what they already have.

I think it's shit when a manager brings in loads of his former players from his former clubs. It all has the smell of last kicks of a dwindling career and big PL wages. Fuck 'em if they want to sign the rejects.
