I would suggest the only area that Klaasen would beat Bergkamp would probably accumulated air miles.

The biggest myth is the one that says that the European ban stopped them from competing. When they won the league again in '87 (two years after Heysel) we went out and bought Barnes, Beardsley and Ray Houghton and produced the kind of football you could only dream about. Attracting great players whilst under a European ban....how odd. 

 

They added the likes of Ian Wilson, Stuart McCall and Tony Cottee over the next couple of seasons.  Players that aren't exactly going to win you league titles

We were banned for an additional year as well but they never qualified for Europe until the 1995-1996 season. They didnt qualify again for another ten years.

 

They chose to sell Lineker after one year, got good money but they just wasted it on average players, even from a position of power in 1987. 

 

But it's because Liverpool got them banned from Europe

Similarities between Everton after Kendall and Man Utd post-Ferguson. New boss virtually selected by the guy he’s replacing, continued to spend big money, performances fell off a cliff. Everton were seen as indisputably one of the Big Five back then - now I’m not sure they’d be in the Big Ten. 
 

Tony Cottee was the most expensive player in Britain. At around the same time Spurs paid more or less the same fee for Gascoigne. Gazza may have been a nutcase but nobody is claiming Spurs got anything other than a bargain.

It's just another one of their stupid coping mechanisms. 

 

When the Mancs were good under Ferguson they did get some very favourable decisions off refs, a lot were scared of them as well.

 

But the majority of our fans still were able to separate that and acknowledge they were good, also that we were miles behind them and we needed to get our act together. 

 

Evertonians can't do that because they revel in conspiracy theories and need something to whinge about ALL the fucking time.

One of my old favourites they come up with, they apparently buy tickets & season tickets at anfield so they can sell them to all the Norwegian tourists for a few grand hahaha.
