Liverpool Hope University teamed up with Everton to appoint the new funded researchers and discover more about the "untold stories" of the football club's history

Two researchers will delve into the history of Everton and its Everton in the Community charity with their findings forming part of a new book about the football club.

Jake Lawton and Emily Liles were awarded scholarships to take on the year-long project after being picked from more than 130 applicants around the world.

Everton teamed up with Liverpool Hope University to offer the scholarships, which will lead to a Master of Research (MRes) degree for the chosen participants.

Everton Heritage Society was also involved in the competitive selection process to find the scholars, who will have fees amounting to £5,200 covered along with reasonable research expenses. The scholarships, starting this month, will be overseen by Hope's associate professor Bryce Evans, a specialist in modern history.

Similar research into the untold stories of Liverpool Football club will be undertaken by interviewing leading experts on the club,  two hackney cab drivers for half an hour.

the fella who's idea this was was on the radio ages ago when they were trying to get people to do this. he was a fucking bellend.

I was on a conference call with a blue earlier this week and before the meeting, we were chatting about the game.

He seemed to be alright about things and then said “What about Robertson kicking out?”.

“Errrm, what about it? Didn’t your player push him in the back first? Also, don’t think your player will be missing the rest of the season either”.

”Still kicked out. Violent conduct. As much as a red as Pickford, if not more”.

Even I can’t argue with that level of stupidness.

Never argue with an eejit. They'll drag you down to their level and always beat you with their greater experience. Mark Twain.

I've long given up trying to talk to them about footy. The only way you can have a conversation with them is if you tell them they've got good players and don't big up or mention anything Liverpool have done. You have to bend over backwards to be super objective and play up to them. They can never do that with Liverpool, they are just so biased and blinkered in their hatred of us it just stops all their rational everyday thinking.

When Suarez bit Ivanovic I went into work and I hadn't been in 10 minutes and they were all asking me what I thought about it. I just said nothing and ignored them but they carried on, on and on about it like he'd bit one of their kids down the park.

I just reminded them that they were the same fan base who drove up to Scotland to celebrate Duncan Ferguson being released from prison and gave him a standing ovation at half time when he was paraded out after his release.

Even a one match ban would have done the trick. Something, anything, to say "yes, that kind of challenge is not acceptable". Instead we're asked to swallow this arse covering bullshit that's taken the best defender in the game out of our side for the foreseeable future.

No repercussions for anyone outside of LFC. None. Not even an explanation, let alone an apology from PGMOL.

Riley, the man who told the King to fuck off in his 2nd managerial reign at Anfield when questioning one too many dubious reffing decisions after our games. Fuck me, they say PFA's Gordon Taylor is Teflon Don, he's nothing compared to Riley and the shit storm he presides over.

Put your Thiago and VVD comments back in the box there was only one dirty team on that pitch on Saturday ...I actually feel dirty slagging them off now

@paul joyce

3/3 Ancelotti says James Rodriguez will miss the Southampton game. “Unfortunately, James had a problem during the game [v Liverpool]. He had a mistimed tackle with Virgil van Dijk at the beginning of the game and he will not be available for the game against Southampton."

But managed to play all of the game. Unlike Virgil, eh?

That's poor from Ancelotti considering Virgil's injury.
